  • Peaceful coastal village location within walking distance to pubs and just 500 yards from the sea

In the popular village of Burton Bradstock, this romantic bolthole for two benefits from the best of all worlds. Close to the sea (beach 500 yards) and with easy access to lots of great local conveniences (shop 100 yards, pub 300 yards), you can dip in and out of lively streets and tranquil spots as you please. A 17th-century, Grade II listed property, this former potter's studio is ideal for a solo getaway or couples' retreat.

Step inside the cottage and relax as the quintessential English country cottage vibes win you over. Gorgeously mixing rustic features with modern comforts, you can sink into one of the cosy armchairs and thumb through one of the books provided or flick on the TV for some light entertainment. When it's time to rustle up some food, this open-plan space has a fully self-catered, equipped kitchen area with fridge, oven and hob, as well as lots of useful mod cons. Upstairs, you will find the property’s bedroom. Benefiting from lots of natural light from large, curtained windows, you can wake up with the sunshine and start your day refreshed and ready. Also, upstairs is the bathroom. Here, there is a walk-in shower, WC and heated towel rail, so you can wrap yourself in a warm, fluffy embrace. Outside, feel free to make use of the shared courtyard garden and enjoy the outside seating with some nibbles and glass of something crisp.

So close to the coast, you can look forward to gently strolling down to Hive beach and perhaps enjoy a glass of something bubbly and a snack at the famed café. Further afield, West Bay is only 2 miles away and well worth a visit. Take a charter boat for a new perspective of the coast, or for inland adventures, head 7 miles to walk up Golden Cap and take in magnificent panoramas.

We enjoyed our stay in the cottage. The cottage was very clean, but very compact and smaller than it looks on the website. The claim that it is located part way down a no-through road is an exaggeration; it is virtually on the bend of the main road through the village. Burton Bradstock is a lovely picturesque village within easy reach of lots of goRead moreod days out. Both pubs in the village serve excellent food, but you do need to book. Hide

Very small basic self contained unit. Awkward entrance way - not a unit recommended for those with any walking difficulties. No washing machine, dishcloth or dishwasher. See my previous email ro you regarding kitchen cleanliness at this property. This in no way reflects on HolidayCottages staff who were most helpful. Also, with a booking fee on top of the rental charge, it seems a little over priced.

The pictures give a genuine impression of the interior, which is a good standard. The hosts were most welcoming. A pint of milk in the fridge was appreciated. The bed was very firm. Being 500yds from the beach is fantastic. However, we felt that "Located part way down a quiet, no-through road" is misleading. It is on the corner of two such roads, aRead morend more significantly about 30m from the main road which dominates the prospect, both from inside and in the courtyard. / / / distract.delays.speaking Hide

Really nice cottage and loc. But apprehensive and parking in the unlit layby espec. as cars further up the road had warning signs abt leaving property in cars but ours proved to be secure by end of week. Perhaps us city dwellers tend to be rather over cautious !
