Set in rural splendour 9.5 miles from the pebble shoreline of Lyme Regis is this charming couple’s retreat. Ideally located for exploring the string of marvellous beaches lining the Jurassic Coast, you’ll soon be navigating cliff-top trails and admiring the sea views. Lyme Regis is a popular destination for walkers, foodies and budding historians alike, so there’s lots to discover amongst the cobbled streets. On your return, fire up the BBQ and sip ice-cold drinks from the comfort of your private decked garden.

Bright, spacious and comfortable throughout, the property is homely and inviting with cosy furniture and everything you need to relax and unwind. Sink into the sofas and watch TV after a busy day, rustle up a feast in the kitchen and enjoy mealtimes around the table. Outside, your courtyard garden is small but perfect for catching the last of the sunshine over your favourite tipple. At bedtime, climb the stairs to find a pretty bedroom with an en-suite shower room.

Nestled in a peaceful village location with access to woodland walks and within easy reach of the coast, your accommodation is well placed for your Dorset adventure. The Axe Valley Wildlife Park is 6 miles away for a day trip, yet the market town of Chard is even closer with its historic Forde Abbey and bustling town centre 4.5 miles away. Navigate the Blackdown Hills with ease, pausing at a village pub for a hearty meal and pint of refreshing local ale. Lyme Regis is a treat for fine dining thanks to the plethora of bars, bistros and restaurants available, and by day the museum, galleries and amusements along the promenade are a treat to peruse.

Loved this property. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Felt very private with its own little courtyard. The hosts were friendly and helpful. A beautiful village with great walks. Loved the church and church bells. Very peaceful but Axminster a short drive away with all amenities so not isolated.

A picturesque location offering a real flavour of Devon life. Wonderful to be welcomed with a cream tea and seasonal flowers on the table. We used Pound Retreat as a base from which to travel around and got a real flavour of West Country life. First time we have stayed in a holiday cottage and we will do it again.

This cottage was spotlessly clean with everything we expected to see with regards to equipment and more. The TV in the bedroom for instance. The shower was lovely and there was plenty of storage for clothes etc. The weather was very hot during our stay and it was nice to sit out on the private decking area.
