This former village bakery has been lovingly turned into a beautiful property close to some of the best coastal and inland walks that Dorset’s Jurassic Coast has to offer. With enough space for six, plus a dog, this property is perfect for a family or group of friends looking to ditch the car; the local farm shop with tea rooms is within 200 metres of the property and the coast is less than 1 mile on foot.

Entering under the flowered arbour over the front door, you’ll discover characterful accommodation with modern touches. The pretty sitting room has a feature window seat and a wonderful stone fireplace housing the wood burner. The kitchen has a cheerful feel and even has a sofa and TV, ideal for social cooking time before you all gather around the farmhouse dining table. One of the property’s two bathrooms is also downstairs. The first floor is reached up steep narrow tread stairs and is where the three bedrooms can be found: two doubles (one with a sleigh bed) and a twin room. A second bathroom ensures there’s no need to queue in the morning. Outside, a gravelled courtyard garden with a BBQ is perfect for a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. On street parking is available outside the property.

Weymouth is 5 miles west and has a host of different activities for the whole family, plus a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants. Don’t miss the Nothe Fort; a Victorian fort housing memorabilia from World War II. Heading east, the dramatic limestone arch Durdle Door is 9.5 miles away by road, or 7.5 miles on the South West Coast Path – well-worth the effort for the stunning views.

  • 3 bedrooms: 2 doubles, 1 twin

Fabulous cottage in a great location. Clean, really well equipped amd comfy beds. The pub has reopened now and we had lovely food there, 2 mins walk with secure gate and little play area. Enjoyed a 3 mile walk to take in the white horse walk from the door. Beware parking charges at Lulworth and Durdle Door - really expensive! A lovely cottage in the heart of Osmington, handy for the beach and a stroll to the local Smuggler's Arms for a grand Sunday lunch. Very peaceful and cosy too. Great communication with the owner who very kindly helped us with the dishwasher!

We felt very at home in Finch cottage and had a wonderful week away with friends and family. Its not too far from The Smugglers Inn and we had a lovely walk to The Springhead pub in Sutton Poyntz. We also enjoyed a walk into Weymouth. Craigs Dairy is close and worth a visit, we had a great breakfast in the tearoom there.

Very nice cottage in pretty village with walks from the door (not surprisingly a bit muddy in December). Mostly well equipped for 6 people and very good to have a highchair and and a cot. The wood burning stove in the living room made the evenings cosy and the fireguard was useful (although not secured to the fire surrounds so vigilance is still neRead moreeded with a mobile infant). Worked well for our family Christmas gathering and the Christmas decorations were a bonus. Hide

Finch Cottage was a lovely place to stay. It was clean, comfortable and a great location for us. It was well-equipped, and warm and cosy once we adjusted the heating to suit our needs.

Lovely cottage and village. Really homely and spacious. Nice to have bath towels of a decent size. Was really conveniently placed for all the places we wanted to visit. Lots of places suggested to visit in the suggestions book. Both Andrea and Lee responded quickly to the queries we had. Would recommend for a lovely stay if you want to visit Dorset

A very comfortable cottage with good space for a family. Sound travels easily so would not recommend for light sleepers. Well equipped and excellent location, would stay again.
