Enjoying a secluded hilltop position, this beautiful 18th-century property offers stunning views across the Isle of Purbeck and towards Corfe Castle. Part of a charming terrace of properties in the historic village of Kingston, this cosy and traditional stone-built period cottage provides friendly and welcoming accommodation for up to eight guests. Perfect for families and friends, the cottage is ideally placed for exploring Dorset’s stunning beaches, beautiful nature reserves and the spellbinding vistas of the Jurassic Coast.

A flagstone hallway leads you through to the warm and colourful lounge, an ideal spot to sit back and unwind with a movie on the TV or a good book in front of the wood burner. The galley-style kitchen is equipped with everything you may need for a favourite meal which you can share in the beautiful dining room. Full of character, this room has traditional ceiling beams, stone flooring and a feature fireplace. Steps lead down to a double bedroom, shower room and a bunk bedroom which has been converted from former outbuildings. The cottage also has a first-floor twin room, double room and bathroom. Due to the age of the property, there are many changes of level and character features including low doorways and areas of restricted head height, adding to its charm. The wraparound garden offers plenty of space for children and dogs to play and run. There are two terraces with outdoor furniture, so you can admire the superb far-reaching views. A traditional ha-ha runs along the bottom of the garden.

The cottage is perfect for discovering the Isle of Purbeck, with nearby attractions including Corfe Castle (2 miles), The Blue Pool (5 miles) and Dancing Ledge (3 miles). The Victorian seaside resort of Swanage (5.5 miles) has a sandy beach and thriving promenade. Nature lovers can explore several beautiful nature reserves or head out to Brownsea Island (7.5 miles). Location was great with fantastic views and excellent bus links. Our party of six plus one dog had plenty of room to spread out. The good weather meant we could make full use of the enormous garden, particularly appreciated by the children and the dog.

A perfect cottage in a perfect location . Love the quirky layout plenty of space for everyone . Kitchen is small and so is the fridge . But that said it is a great house and the huge garden is perfect . Views to die for and Swallows and Swifts all around as an added bonus .

Lovely views over the countryside & Corfe Castle from fantastic garden. Dog owners be aware the garden is not secure - open entrance to neighbours garden. Kitchen quite small - only really suitable for one person at a time - but well equipped. Lounge - comfortable. EV charger is shared with neighbouring cottage which is not made clear. We had no prRead moreoblems but it could cause issues if both parties want to charge at the same time, especially the night before leaving. Hide

We had a very pleasant week at Purbeck Cottage. It is beautifully situated with fantastic views across to Corfe Castle and beyond. We were able to easily park 3 cars with some care. The two seating areas outside were lovely to use. The living room was very comfortable and WIFI seemed to work well. Sleeping accommodation is quite adequate, the kitchRead moreen is small but well equipped. Bathrooms were fine except the shower which was pretty weak. We were grateful for the games and local info/map etc. Hide

Just the best view from the cottage! Garden gorgeous- beautifully maintained and great space for dog to run around. Well equipped kitchen. Beds and bedding very comfy-especially master. Hopefully something can be done with shower pressure and bring loo rolls! Pub right next door which does a good meal and pint.

This is a delightful cottage, full of character and with stunning views. There was plenty of room for 6 adults and two children, who slept in bunk beds. Really appreciate having two bathrooms and an extra loo on the ground floor! The garden is enormous - plenty of space for the children to run around, and for playing Boules, etc. The patios are welRead morel placed so that you can enjoy breakfast in the sun in the morning, and drinks in the evening on the second one.
