An ideal bolthole for two, this charming loft-style studio apartment is a great choice for those wishing to explore all that the beautiful Isle of Purbeck has to offer before relaxing in comfort.

Swanage is a traditional coastal town with a popular sandy beach and a great selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Rolling hills surround the town, ensuring you’ll have the best of both worlds when it comes to walking routes, with the South West Coast Path, Ballard Down and Durlston Country Park all within 2 miles. From here, you can take the steam train to Corfe Castle, which is home to castle ruins cared for by the National Trust as well as pretty streets to explore. Within 14 miles are many attractions including Monkey World, The Tank Museum, RSPB Arne, walled town of Wareham, Studland and Tyneham village.

Adjacent to the owners’ home, yet with privacy assured, a private entrance gate leads to the door into this first-floor apartment. Once inside, you are met with a small vestibule and narrow staircase leading to the property. There is a welcoming open-plan living space, with comfortable seating, TV and room to dine. The room is cleverly divided to create a bedroom space, complete with a double bed, distant sea glimpse and a Juliet balcony. Due to the setting within the eaves, there are some areas of restricted head height and a floor level beam beside the bed, care is to be taken. Heading back through the lounge area and up a step you will find the compact kitchen, which is equipped with an electric hob, combination microwave oven and fridge with ice compartment. Just next door is a contemporary bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

The property is accessed through a private courtyard with seating and covered bike storage, an ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee. To the front of the property is a shared drive with off-road parking space for one car. Additional roadside parking is subject to availability.

Comfortable and very conveniently located. Short walk to beach and town for shops and public transport. Many lovely walks from the apartment e.g train to Corfe and walk back, Studland and back, Dancing Ledge and back and several much shorter. We wish we could have stayed longer but had childminding duties back home. We will definitely be back.

Not a cottage of course but a small loft apartment. Very tastefully presented in a seaside style and although small had just about everything needed. The kitchen space is tight and if cooking you need to be organised as limited work surfaces. The bed is a double not king. Location is good only a few minutes walk to the sea and close to the local BrRead moreeezer bus stops and a pub. Allocated parking on the drive is a great plus. Hide

Arnewood is in a good location for walking to the beach and Swanage town centre. There is plenty to do and see both in Swanage and a short drive away. The owners are very easy to contact if needed, and the apartment is well planned and cosy, with a car parking space at the property. Alison and Haydn provided plenty of information about using equipmRead moreent in the apartment. They also provided contact details for important services, in case guests need medical care, for example. We enjoyed our stay. Hide
