Less than 2 miles from the fantastic, Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, this quaint, thatched cottage is an idyllic destination for a romantic retreat. Close to the bustling hub of Bridport (2 miles), spend days wandering the quirky streets before enjoying a beach day with your four-legged third wheels, and returning home to settle down in style. Brimming with country charm and character, the warming wood burner is the perfect welcome home you deserve after days spent exploring your fantastic surroundings.
Tucked away at the end of a pretty terrace of cottages, step through the picket gate and through the door at the rear of the house. Head straight for the galley-style kitchen and pop the kettle on for a welcoming brew. Though snug, this space has all you need to rustle up romantic feasts and is bright and airy, a lovely space in which to spend time cooking up a storm. When it’s time to dine, plate up in the lounge/diner, or dine under the last of the sun in the courtyard (set over different levels). Enjoy a sundowner tipple before snuggling up with a good film in front of the roaring wood burner, the ultimate cosy way to end your day before you head upstairs to bed. Climb winding stairs and get tucked up in the spacious, king-size bedroom. Before bed, unwind with a book on the sofa before soaking in the en-suite bathroom and drifting off to sleep. There is roadside parking to the front of the property.
Head into the vibrant, market town of Bridport, with its thriving arts and food scene, and wander the pretty streets or treat yourselves to a date night away from the kitchen. If heading out for a beach day, pick up fresh produce for your picnic and make the 2-mile trip south to Eype, a dog-friendly beach where you can find a quiet spot to settle down. Tucked beneath the towering peak of the Golden Cap, enjoy walks around the National Trust-owned estate and admire fantastic, far-reaching views to reward your hike.
