This Grade II listed chocolate box cottage has character in abundance and is ideally placed for touring, with Blandford Forum, Wimborne Minster and the coast all being within reach.

This thatched cobb cottage is full of quintessential English charm, with its thatched roof and myriad original features. Curl up in front of the cosy wood burner or unwind in the immaculate cottage garden. Just along the road is the local village pub, where you can enjoy a pint or meal at the end of a busy day. The surrounding countryside is a haven for walkers. You’ll also be within easy reach of the pretty market town of Blandford Forum (4 miles) and the cathedral city of Salisbury (20.5 miles).

Follow the gravel path to the quaint cottage. At the heart of the home is a warm and inviting lounge/diner. Here, an inglenook fireplace houses a wood burner and the original bread ovens. Elegant beams adorn the ceiling and there’s a round dining table where you can enjoy mealtimes together. From here, steps lead to the cosy snug. The country kitchen has everything you need, including a fabulous Rayburn, to create tasty dishes. Due to the age of the property, you’ll find characterful low beams and doorways, as well as split levels and cottage-style stairs leading to the first floor. Outside, discover a charming cottage garden laid to lawn and surrounded by mature hedging. Dine on the patio or relax with a glass of wine on the sun loungers.

The property is located within the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This distinctive landscape has a network of walking and cycling trails running across its chalk grasslands and escarpments. Spend an afternoon pottering around the Georgian market town of Blandford Forum. Stroll along the river, take a brewery tour and pick up some tasty local treats for dinner. For a day at the seaside, head south to Bournemouth (20.5 miles), where you’ll find 7 miles of sandy beaches.

Great cottage with lovely furniture, some beautiful artwork, and most importantly some comfy beds.. The garden is delightful and well maintained. I would happily rent this property again as it is possibly the best holiday rental we have ever stayed in.

The cottage is lovely and quiet but is very remote so you definitely need a car to get about. Just be careful if you are tall with some of the low beams!

Wholeheartedly recommended this cottage to anyone. The dogs were relaxed and safe here, we loved the quietness when we sat outside and can see a lot of work has been done inside and out to make it so very welcoming and comfortable, it felt as though we had actually moved house! Hats off to the owners for being able to make us feel this way.

Chocolate box cottage in a chocolate box village. Stunning property inside and out with great attention to detail and comfort. A bonus being dog friendly as is the local pub which is well worth booking a table for a meal. The village seems very friendly too judging by the local residents we spoke too. A perfect place for a getaway.
