Within half a mile of the National Trust’s long sandy beach at Studland Bay, this delightful and relaxing property offers a family an ideal base for exploring the spectacular Dorset countryside.

Just half a mile from the sandy Studland Bay is this modern holiday home. Perfect for family getaways by the sea, the cottage features light and airy rooms, fresh contemporary decor and a sunny rear garden with patio. Take a long walk along the 4-mile stretch of golden sand, spot wildlife in the heathland or have a go at one of the water sports on offer before enjoying a meal to remember in one of the local restaurants.

Inside, a cosy lounge with feature fireplace, Blu-ray DVD and iPod dock is a welcoming and homely room for relaxing in the evenings. At the rear of the house, both the kitchen and dining rooms are light and airy with doors opening onto the garden, adding an al fresco feel for those hazy summer months. With a sloping lawn bordered by trees and shrubs and a patio area with outdoor furniture, the garden is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine after a long day on the beach. Steps lead down from the garden to a parking area where there is space for one car.

The sandy beach at Studland lies within easy walking distance of this property. Owned by the National Trust, Studland Bay offers gently shelving swimming waters, views of Old Harry Rocks and the Isle of Wight and a range of water sports. The heathland behind is a haven for native wildlife including nightjars, Dartford warblers and reptiles. Grab a bite to eat at one of the village's cafes / pubs or catch the ferry across the water to Sandbanks (4 miles) and Bournemouth (8.5 miles) for a wider range of dining, shopping and entertainment.

A beautiful location handy for beach and Old Harry Club . A few areas of improvement throughout the cottage fed back to owners however nothing too serious. Overall we rated 3 out of 5 .

This cottage is in a fantastic location. Its in easy reach of some lovely beaches and walks. The bar at the end of the road does lovely pizzas. The shop at the cross roads sells everything. The beach cafes are very convenient and the cakes at Manor Farm Cafe are delicious!

Heathland Cottage is a beautiful, spacious house, perfectly located in Studland. A short walk to the village store and Old Harrys Bar, and walkable to The Bankes Arms and local beaches, I cant wait to return.

Recommend this cottage wholeheartedly. Very well located to access all the wonders of Studland, and also further afield on the Breezer bus which stops right outside. Comfortable beds, powerful shower, great kitchen facilities. Thank you!

Wow factor when entering but let down by silly things. Three light bulbs not working, security light not working, dirty tea-towels, grubby and very uncomfortable sofa and very hard mattress in master bedroom. Garage entered and left open whilst we were out and key-safe had been tampered with whilst we were out. Fortunately we kept key with us at alRead morel times. Would have given much higher rating otherwise. Location is very good and ideal as a base for lots of attractions. Hide
