Boasting the best of town vibes and coastal cool, this pretty property is only 3 miles from Lyme Regis, “the Pearl of Dorset”, and is ideal for group gatherings.

With a number of shops and eateries on your doorstep, this property is ideal for those looking to balance discovery and luxury in equal measures. Based in Charmouth village, you can wander along the streets and head down to the beach for lungfuls of salty air. For multicoloured beach huts and picture-postcard scenes, drive the 3 miles to Lyme Regis and fall in love with this charming town. When you start to feel peckish, there is a bistro less than 200 yards from the cottage and a pub 300 yards away.

A picturesque 15th-century mid-row cottage, your holiday begins as soon as you arrive. Step in through the front door and take a step down into the main living area. A deceptively spacious room flooded with light, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner basks in sunshine and embraces a polished, modern style. With each aspect carefully thought out, you will immediately appreciate the quality and attention to detail. This doesn’t mean comfort has been sacrificed, though. Home to two plump sofas and an armchair, you can put your feet up and watch TV in the evenings as the wood burner pumps out heat. Bliss. Throughout the day, the kitchen is a great place to congregate. Providing ample space and access to the property’s courtyard, meal preparations will be a total pleasure. Including an oven and electric hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and more, the owners have thought of everything, so you don’t have to. Next, heading up to the first floor you will come to two of the property’s three bedrooms. With slightly reduced head height in the eaves, the bedrooms adopt the same crisp, bright tones and feature a single and a 5ft double that can be split into two. Also on this level is the family bathroom with a bath with overhead shower and heated towel rail. Finally, on the second floor, a double bedroom takes pride of place and enjoys plenty of light from Velux windows. Set in the eaves, this bedroom also has reduced head height. For extra indulgence, each bedroom comes with its own TV and DVD player.

Outside, the cottage has a cute and compact walled courtyard, dotted with shrubs and flowers. There is parking available on the village lane.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Beautiful little cottage within walking distance to the beach and pub, perfect! The owners had thought of everything and it was decorated to the highest standard. Coat hooks by the front door would be my only suggestion. Loved the little courtyard.

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

Dorset, a location of enduring popularity is a small rural gem of a county encompassing all of the best parts of rural England: rolling green hills, woodland and hedgerows abundant with flora and fauna running down to the sea yet situated just 3 hours from London and the South East.

The whole coastline from Exmouth to Poole has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Known as the Jurassic Coast, it is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status and offers unspoilt views with dramatic cliff-top walks alongside beautiful, safe, sandy beaches which often welcome your four-legged friends too. From the dramatic natural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland; Dorset has it all.

This South West county is also a treasure trove of secrets waiting to be discovered. Having grown out of the landscape out of the centuries, many of Dorset’s small rural towns expose history at every turn to inform and delight guests, whilst for the more energetic, footpaths and cycle-ways open up to reveal Dorset’s hidden secrets and the coast is always close at hand for those who love the water.

Why not head to Lyme Regis – classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, much like most of West Dorset to uncover an old-world ambience and excellent fossil hunting or discover the drama of Lulworth with the iconic Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.

Dorset’s towns and villages ooze quintessential charm and are graced by fine buildings which have often been immortalised in Thomas Hardy’s books, including Dorchester – his birthplace. Wherever you choose to stay, you are never far from the fascinating Jurassic Coast and World Heritage Coastal Path.
