Self-catering holiday accommodation in Studland

With the finest sandy beach in the county, Studland is a very special place for a holiday. It benefits from a small shop, an excellent pub and restaurants as well as miles of walking on its surrounding heath, an unspoiled National Trust nature reserve. It is also home to a fabulous 4-mile stretch of coastline with a sandy beach and gently shelving shores, perfect for swimming and paddling. The beach is also an excellent spot to build sandcastles with little ones and play beach games, all with marvellous views of Old Harry Rocks and the Isle of Wight in the distance.

The beaches in Studland are all owned by the National Trust and are called Shell Bay, Knoll Beach, Middle Beach and South Beach. Most are good for water sports, although bear in mind that there is a very popular naturist beach there too! Lovers of wildlife should head behind the beach where the heathland is home to a myriad of wildlife as well as all six British reptiles. Head further in through the sand dunes and woodlands where marked trails will allow you to experience not only the beautiful Dorset scenery, but also perhaps to spot a wild deer or two foraging amongst the trees. With a smattering of beautiful wildflowers accompanying you as you walk, there really is no more delightful place to spend a long summer's afternoon.
