Property code: JURRE

Cosy yet spacious holiday cottage situated on the gorgeous Dorset coast. Perfect for exploring the beautiful beaches and coastal footpaths which the Jurassic coast has to offer.

With access to shared facilities at the neighbouring holiday park including a pool, sauna and a play area, there is plenty to keep guests of all ages entertained.

Make your way inside this fantastically located home and leave boots, bags and coats in the spacious hallway before getting comfortable. A pair of sofas in the open-plan lounge/diner invite you to do just that and provide a welcome spot to relax in after adventures and days in the great outdoors. Put your feet up with a mug of tea and switch on the TV for a lazy afternoon or throw on a DVD for a film night and swap the tea for a glass of something cold. A fresh space with all you need to enjoy cooking up a storm, the kitchen has plenty of room for a couple of chefs to rustle up treats to be enjoyed at the dining table. Eat together and spend sociable evenings nattering around the table or throw open the French doors and enjoy al fresco aperitifs in the fresh air. Rinse away the day in the ground-floor wet room or climb to the first floor and soak in the bath. Rest your head in one of two charming bedrooms and take care as rooms on the first floor have sloping ceilings. There is ample off-road parking.

With so much to explore, plan your time wisely and enjoy all that Dorset has to offer. For a traditional, family-friendly day by the sea, with the added bonus of being in fossil-hunting heaven, travel less than a mile to the local beach at Charmouth and spend time in the sand and sea. Lovely family run site, the property was clean and well maintained with everything you need. Simple but quality furnishings and high standard. Plenty of things to do in the area and an on site bar with entertainment some nights, takeaway food etc.

Great location, with everything you need to hand. It was a great base for our three children and they loved going to the beach and round the corner to the pub to use the play area and feed the goats. Happy children means a happy holiday!!!

Lovely and clean place, beds super comfy, well equipped kitchen and a great location. With a couple of tweaks this place could be fab. Just needs a bit of modernising. That didnt detract from our stay though. Sitting outside having breakfast in the sun was the highlight.

The staff we spoke to were extremely helpful and friendly and gave excellent service. The cottage is roomy and clean, however it needs more towel rails or hooks. We were a party of 5 adults with 5 bath sheets and hand towels and we had to hang them over wardrobe doors or on the backs of beds. The downstairs shower curtain is too short, consequentlyRead more the floor floods after each use. The large concrete outside space gives little privacy and could do with plant pots or other forms of greenary. Hide

A modern, well equipped cottage with others, centred around a secure parking area, off the main road in Charmouth with pub and other shops within a short walking distance. Also only a 15 minute walk to the splendid beach. Good centre for exploring and walking the Jurassic coast, and visiting Lyme Regis, Chesil Beach and the Isle of Portland.

Although it's just three hours from London and the South East, Dorset feels like a world away from the hubbub of the city. This gem of a county offers the very best of rural England: magnificent coastal scenery, vast sandy beaches, rolling hills, charming villages, country pubs, stately homes and medieval castles.

Take time to explore the dramatic and diverse coastline. Stretching 95 miles from East Devon to Poole, the Jurassic Coast has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status. Here, visitors can uncover Earth's fascinating history whilst enjoying unspoilt views over superb beaches, many of which welcome canine companions too. From the iconic rural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland, Dorset has it all.

Why not head to Lyme Regis, classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Like much of West Dorset, it has an old-world ambience and offers excellent fossil hunting opportunities. Or head east to discover the beauty of Lulworth and the vibrant seaside resort of Swanage.

Steeped in history and with a certain quintessential charm, Dorset's glorious countryside is peppered with small towns and villages which are well worth a visit. Many are graced with fine buildings, immortalised in the books of Thomas Hardy, a Dorset-born novelist and poet. For more energetic visitors, footpaths and cycleways reveal the county's hidden secrets with the coast always close at hand for those who love the water.
