A beautiful home for a rural, romantic retreat, this quaint bolthole is a snug and welcoming abode. Filled with light, the open-plan living space is a lovely place to spend time with a loved one and offers a warm welcome when returning home from exploring. The magical Dorset coast and countryside are yours to adventure with a handful of National Trust properties close by, pretty villages to roam and the historic town of Sherborne with its castles and abbey an 11-mile journey from your door.

Enter via your private access and arrive at your home from home to begin unpacking your bags and stocking the cupboards with goodies. The lounge/diner are open-plan, and the wood burner effect electric fire promises to keep the chill at bay. When it’s time to whet your appetite, the kitchen is compact but has all you need to cater for meals at the dining table. Make use of the ice compartment in the fridge and chill your glasses of bubbly before heading outside to the secluded garden to raise a toast and sit beneath the stars. After a tipple or two, head to bed in the lovely double bedroom where you can snuggle up under the covers for a peaceful sleep. Start your day with a relaxing soak in the tub before heading out to explore.

Pack up a picnic and don your swimmers for a day by the coast and travel 30 miles to the beautiful beach at Swanage. From Swanage, hop on the 9-mile Purbeck Ridge Walk which winds its way past Old Harry Rocks and up to the quaint village of Corfe Castle. My boyfriend and I spent Christmas at Jackie's lovely property. It was the perfect location for a peaceful break set in beautiful countryside, but still within easy reach of local amenities. Despite the rural setting the WiFi was excellent, as was mobile network coverage. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was so comfortable. Jackie is such Read morea lovely and welcoming host and kindly let us check in early after travelling all day. Thanks for such a wonderful time. We'll definitely be back! Hide

Gorgeous little cottage with everything you need. Lovely little sun trap seating area. Perfect for a couple who needs to escape for a few days. Jackie couldn't be more helpful, checking on us after a power cur, but apart from that we were left alone. Winnie the labrador was so sweet too. Will definately book again

Loved our stay in this little peaceful cottage. Small but plenty of room for the two of us. Having a peaceful garden to sit in when we got back after a day out was just like home. Well situated for exploring Dorset. Would definitely come again.

A lovely compact but quaint holiday cottage ideal for 2 in a beautiful part of Dorset. It was very clean and well equipped although no wardrobe. However, there were ample coat hangers in the bedroom to hang dresses, shirts etc. Jackie was very welcoming and shared her local knowledge which helped us to visit other areas. The little garden was sunnyRead more and pretty and it was a pleasure to sit outside of an evening. The local pub is a 10min walk across the footpath. Would highly recommend. Hide
