This beautiful, detached barn conversion is set in a tranquil rural setting amidst an organic dairy farm. Combining contemporary style with character features this is the ideal base for a relaxing holiday

Relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside surroundings of this converted Dorset barn which nestles on an organic dairy farm. Gaze out across the acres of fields and breathe in the fresh country air. Located near the quiet village of West Milton and just 3.5 miles from Bridport, the handsome home, which sleeps up to six guests and welcomes one dog, offers the best of all worlds. Walk through scenic Dorset and follow parts of the South West Coast Path; relax on the beach at West Bay 5 miles away, or spend afternoons browsing in the shops and market stalls of Bridport.

Make your way from the unmade driveway into the stone barn and leave your wellies and coats in the utility room. Find yourself in an inviting beamed lounge, where you can relax on comfortable seating, watch TV or a DVD, or simply sit and absorb the views. The kitchen/diner, with its vaulted ceiling, lies beyond the lounge - prepare holiday feasts in here to share with your family and friends. Find one of your bedrooms, with its en-suite shower room, also at ground-floor level. Head up to the first floor for your other two comfortable bedrooms, which share a family bathroom. Serve dinner out in the sunshine on warm evenings; relax on the patio by the fire pit and watch the children run about on the lawn.

Spend happy afternoons in the vibrant Georgian town of Bridport. Wander its streets taking in its interesting architecture and deciding where to dine out. Visit the museum here too, which is about 4 miles away, or take a tour of Palmers Brewery, 4.5 miles from home. Pick up the South West Coast Path at West Bay and walk just over 5 miles to Burton Bradstock for far-reaching views across the Devon coastline from the top of high cliffs.

Millham Barn was perfect for exploring West Dorset and beyond- tranquil rural setting, spacious, airy, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Footpath to two pubs from farm was ideal-20 minutes walk to Three Horseshoes - great food and beer! Happy memories of drinking rose on the patio watching the beatiful sunset- would definitely recommend.

The cottage is newly and tastefully decorated, very comfortable and a perfect retreat. We loved being by the farm and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The owners are very friendly and willing to help with any questions. Two fabulous pubs within walking distance. Highly recommend a stay at Millham Barn.

This converted barn is absolutely gorgeous, in a peaceful setting with no traffic noise at all, with countryside all round and just a 15 minute drive away from the coast. It was clean throughout and we were greeted with fresh flowers and biscuits. Walking routes close by are enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!

We had a super week in this beautifully renovated cottage. The accommodation was perfect for four adults and two children, with my wife and I enjoying the downstairs bedroom with en suite shower. It has a lovely spacious kitchen/diner and was very well equipped with all we needed. The location is quite remote and quiet with just fields and the farmRead morehouse in view in the distance. Very well located for a short drive to West Bay and there was a very good pub and play area a few minutes drive away. Hide

Although it's just three hours from London and the South East, Dorset feels like a world away from the hubbub of the city. This gem of a county offers the very best of rural England: magnificent coastal scenery, vast sandy beaches, rolling hills, charming villages, country pubs, stately homes and medieval castles.

Take time to explore the dramatic and diverse coastline. Stretching 95 miles from East Devon to Poole, the Jurassic Coast has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status. Here, visitors can uncover Earth's fascinating history whilst enjoying unspoilt views over superb beaches, many of which welcome canine companions too. From the iconic rural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland, Dorset has it all.

Why not head to Lyme Regis, classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Like much of West Dorset, it has an old-world ambience and offers excellent fossil hunting opportunities. Or head east to discover the beauty of Lulworth and the vibrant seaside resort of Swanage.

Steeped in history and with a certain quintessential charm, Dorset's glorious countryside is peppered with small towns and villages which are well worth a visit. Many are graced with fine buildings, immortalised in the books of Thomas Hardy, a Dorset-born novelist and poet. For more energetic visitors, footpaths and cycleways reveal the county's hidden secrets with the coast always close at hand for those who love the water.
