On arrival:- 20 mugs but not one clean one. Filthy with rings of dirt on inside and dribbles on outside. The cutlery was not clean nor were the plates.used dirty oven trays still in oven with grease and pastry stuck on. No dishwasher tabs. I had to go out and get tabs and put everything through the dishwasher before we could use it. The kitchen siRead morenk was filthy with tea stains and grease the washing up bowl was the same with thick grease and dirt on the bottom. I went to wipe a drop of water off the kitchen floor and the cloth came away black! This is not a 4 star!! The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were adequate and clean. The cushions in the living room were grubby and had stains on them. The property is close to town with easy access to the town centre. The balcony was grubby with long term cobwebs etc and green algae growing on the floor. The doors leading onto the balcony have got a broken pane and all the double glazing there is blown and it looks as if that has been the situation for some time. When I complained to the owner he said he had been made aware of the blown glazing but it was a matter of the cost of remedying that he needed to consider. The top of the salad container is broken -the owner had been aware of that too. There was a broken drawer in the freezer. Hide

Previous reviews have said about the rusty toaster, curtains off the track, stuck doors, broken fridge shelf. These things still need seeing to. It was pretty dirty, used makeup pad and popcorn on the floor by the bed, stained cushions. Also the info says there is a key to the 'magic gate' but it doesn't work. A resident said the locks had beenRead more changed a few months ago and we had the old key. So I can recommend the apartment to some extent in that it is a great location and the apartment is lovely, with partial seaview...when the people in the apartment in front don't have their sun umbrella up! But it wouldn't seem right recommending it without letting you know the issues. If I had paid less it would have been fine. But for over 1k I would want it clean. Plus they only provide one dishwasher tab and ends of toilet rolls. Again, for the money, I would expect better. After a clean up we had a lovely time. I know the cleaning agency had people off though, maybe it's usually in a better state than that. Hide

Great location and generally a well maintained property. We struggled with the doors to the balcony and one curtain is not on the track properly but overall a very nice, clean property. Happy to recommend.

This is a fantastic complex to stay in and feels really private and quiet, just the right distance from town and a lovely walk in. Clean and well furnished, great to have two parking spaces.

Ocean View in Swanage is in a good position with a partial view of the bay. The property however is let down by neglect. For example the carpets are badly stained, the bathrooms have a broken bath panel & mouldy sealant around the wash hand basin which is no longer attached to the tiles. Part of the ceiling is damaged in the sitting room. The frRead moreidge has a missing glass shelf & the freezer leaks. The property reminds me of a shared student flat many years ago and is definitely not 4 star.

We had a fabulous week in Swanage. The house is well equipped and in a great location. The view of the sea and Ballard Down, although between two houses, was a bonus. It was an easy walk to the pier from where we took a boat trip to Poole. It is also a short walk to the shops and beach. No need to use the car except for travelling further afield. TRead morehe parking spaces are not large but we only have a small car. We would definitely consider returning. Hide

The apartment is tired and in need of some TLC. Based on the price paid it is overpriced. Blown and cracked patio windows. Dirty carpets. Ceiling damage after leak. Kettle peeling . Toaster rusty. Condiment jars need washing.. Tea caddy has tea bags which have gone yellow. Bath panel cracked and taped up. Shower over bath original and old. A z bed Read moreis kept in wardrobe making wardrobe unusable. The parking areas have never been swept. A deep clean and repairs are needed to justify its price. Hide

Good location although the sea view is extremely limited. The house is well equipped but in need of some time and money being to update fixtures etc. There was a musty smell in both bedrooms. It should also be noted that the allocated parking spaces are extremely tight which meant gymnastics trying to get in and out of the cars.
