A former Victorian school with contemporary interior styling, and easy access to Dorset’s most famous attractions. With character features and a wood burner, it’s the ideal year-round base for a fun-filled holiday.

A fantastic destination for lovers of the great outdoors, this charming bolthole sits close to both coast and countryside and is also just 4.5 miles from the bustling Dorset town of Dorchester. Sleeping six guests over three bedrooms, with two of your pups welcome along, this home is great for groups of friends and family. Spend your days exploring the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and return to snuggle in front of the wood burner or continue your evening al fresco in the courtyard.

Step inside this old schoolhouse and make yourselves at home amid fresh spaces decorated with bursts of zesty colour and rustic-style features, such as exposed beams. Head to the kitchen/diner to unload your provisions and pack away the treat jar. A light room with ample space for cooking up a storm, do just that and plate up at the table before making your way to the enclosed courtyard for an after-dinner drink in the last of the sun. With a warming wood burner and TV, the lounge is a great place in which to retreat after long adventures out and about. Pick a book from the shelf which is piled high with tales, or pop on a DVD for a family film night. The two first-floor bedrooms have beautiful, pitched ceilings with exposed beams, and plenty of space. Suited to younger guests, the ground-floor twin is a lovely place for little ones to rest their heads. There is off-road parking for two cars.

A trip to Dorset is not complete without a trip to Lulworth Cove and the mesmerizing arch at Durdle Door. Pack up a picnic, grab your towel and travel 10.5 miles to the beautiful, horseshoe-shaped bay at Lulworth where you can swim in the crystal seas and settle down for a day on the beach. Walk 1.5 miles along the coast to Durdle Door and marvel at the stunning structure. With plenty of places to grab a bite to eat and a pair of cinemas, Dorchester (4.5 miles) is a great place to spend a night out.

Lovely big cottage in a perfect location for all the local sites and walks. Mostly a well stocked kitchen with enough glasses for a party but too few mugs! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful house in nice quiet location, very comfortable. Upstairs rooms are lovely. Courtyard could have been cleaner as furniture and table were dirty.

The cottage was lovely beautiful location quoet peaceful everything you need was there. It was within easy reach of Lulworth, swanage, weymouth and bridport New inn at the end of the road made us feel so welcome Lovely Sunday roast and breakfast. Had a lovely time and would definitely go to the cottage again and the area

The school house was comfortable and well located, we fell in love with Weymouth which was less than 10 miles away. Very enjoyable week.

This is a lovely character cottage in a quiet area. The rooms are a very good size and the kitchen is really well equipped. Upstairs has some wonderful features with a large comfortable double bed. It is really well placed for exploring Dorset. There are a few things that give a disappointing first impression eg stained carpet, mouldy grouting in tRead morehe bathrooms & the cleaners came twice to make outside ready for us - but after a good nights sleep they didnt seem quite so important. Shame the property didnt have a garden for the dogs and grandson to run around in, but otherwise it was a lovely place to stay.

Overall the cottage layout is quite stunning when you arrive and is cleaned to a high standard. A large number of Dorset sites are in easy reach and my family enjoyed their stay.

The cottage was very large, well serviced with equipment and well situated for amenities such as Maiden Castle, Durdle Door, Weymouth, Lyme Regis and Swanage. The village was quiet although there were two very good pubs providing food within walking distance.

The house is well situated, however the garden to the front is poorly maintained as is the courtyard to the rear. The inside of the house is in need of a complete refresh and modernisation. All the bathrooms need updating and repairing. It could be a fantastic place to stay but needs some of the income spending on its interiors. Great location, quiet but close to Dorchester with great access to the coast and inland. If your heading in from Dorchester the road in from Broadmayne is slightly further but a better road. The house is more spacious than it appears on the photos especially the lounge and upstairs bedrooms.
