Encompassed by spacious grounds and boasting a heated outdoor swimming pool, its idyllic setting and superb catalogue of amenities will appeal to all generations. Home to five bedrooms and three bathrooms, this family home is ideal for group gatherings. In summer, make the most of the spacious grounds and outdoor pool (available between April and September) and bask in the sunshine on the terrace as ice-topped glasses clink and glisten in the sunlight. In winter, rainy afternoons will be all about relaxing in the large lounge where comfortable seating invites you in for a family movie or game of charades. As daylight fades outside, go head to head in the games room with a table football or pool tournament, before heading to the galley-style kitchen for a meal of champions. Serve plates of food around the dining room’s formal table, overlooked by patio doors, and chat away before eventually giving into tiredness and making your way to bed.

Only 8.5 miles from Bournemouth’s golden-sand beachfront and 6.5 miles from the outer fringes of the sprawling New Forest National Park, you will never have a shortage of things to see and do. Don walking boots for tree-capped strolls or ditch shoes altogether for a day at the coast, digging toes into powder-fine sand and chasing the lap of waves. The cottage is perfectly positioned for discovering the array of attractions that Dorset has to offer. Have a fun-filled day at Adventure World (2 miles) where you can test your nerve on the rides in Adventureland, including the runaway train and log flume, while younger guests will love the attractions of Wonderland. Hit the slopes at Snowtrax Alpine Activity Centre (4.5 miles) where you can ski and snowboard down the 110 metre artificial slope. Spin down the slopes on a ringo or race your friends down the toboggan run on a ski bob. Try something new at Avon Tyrell Outdoor Centre (10.5 miles) from archery to zip wires. Catch the chain ferry over to the Isle of Purbeck and get to know Swanage, Studland Beach and Corfe Castle too.
