A romantic couple’s retreat can be had here at this cosy cottage for two, ideally located in the pretty village of Sandleheath on the fringes of the New Forest.

Experience the many wonders of coastal Dorset, rural Hampshire and even the beautiful Somerset a little further afield when staying in this cosy cottage for two. Lovingly presented with quirky décor and snug style, the holiday home offers the ideal romantic base for two staying together. Boasting a pretty garden set to lawn and a welcome pack of local goodies left out for you by the owners, this unique studio-style accommodation is the perfect space to call your own at the end of a long adventure-packed day in the surrounding area.

Step inside to find an open-plan living area with romantic textures and sweet soft furnishings that truly make this house a home. Select a novel from the bookcase or watch TV whilst curled up on the sofa. The kitchen sits on a mezzanine floor above the lounge allowing for you to sociably chat whilst dinner is prepared, and meals can be enjoyed right here in the lounge or on the sunny patio with private garden. Heading back inside you’ll find a double bedroom located behind a partition wall from the lounge, complete with plenty of wardrobe space for unpacking your luggage.

Perched on the edge of the New Forest, the local town of Fordingbridge (1.5 miles) makes an excellent starting point for hikes and cycles in the fantastic National Park. Explore this vibrant forest with its wild ponies, an array of unique birds to spot and even grazing deer. Hop over into Dorset for a trip to England’s glorious south coast, spending an afternoon on the beach in Bournemouth (18 miles) or heading to the Dorset AONB (28 miles) for walks along the heritage Jurassic Coast. For a day out with less walking involved visit Liberty’s Owl, Raptor & Reptile Centre (9 miles).

A small but delightful cottage for up to two adults and their dog. The facilities and hospitality were excellent providing home from home comfort with much to enjoy when the weather is not so kind, with good garden spaces for your four legged companion to explore and off street parking for one car. Lovely welcome from Debbie even our Dog welcomed with treats and a .very Generous welcome package for ourselves.. Kitchen well equipped with everything needed for our short break. Compact cosy cottage with convenience of Post office and general store next door selling a variety of grocery items. I would not bother to bring food with me on a future Read morevisit . We had a lovely break visiting beaches and forest for walks and hope to return. Hide

A beautiful little gem of a cottage, located in the heart of the New Forest, close to many walks and places to visit. A secure garden which allowed our dog to wander was a godsend, he really enjoyed himself! We were made to feel so welcome and the welcome pack of goodies was amazing. We would highly recommend this cottage for the perfect get away.

Very welcoming hosts with a fridge of extra goodies for a full cooked breakfast and more, even treats for our dog. Small and cosy with everything we needed for a short stay, excellent location for both New Forest and south coast.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Old post Office Cottage. Everything that could possibly be needed was provided in the accommodation. Owners were friendly & available if needed at all. Also there was an excellent, very generous welcome food package provided, which was really appreciated. Thank you

This is a lovely (small but cosy) cottage. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The welcome pack was amazing and even our dog was made to feel very welcome. We would not hesitate to book again.

Although it's just three hours from London and the South East, Dorset feels like a world away from the hubbub of the city.
