This homely converted quarryman's cottage is located overlooking Swanage's high street and the stunning countryside that heads towards the Dorset coast. The two-bedroom property is just 1 mile away from the beach and is the perfect destination for a quiet weekend or short break.

This cottage was once the home of the punchman's assistant from Swanage Beach and provides an ideally located and professionally renovated living space. Given its proximity to the beach and Dorset coast, couples looking for romance and older families will both appreciate this accommodation.

The first thing you notice upon entry, is the cosy and traditional sitting room with the stone work and beams of the original building very much on display. There's an inviting corner sofa and Smart TV and it has been impeccably decorated. Further along, passing the steep wooden staircase to the left, on the ground floor you find the unconventionally shaped and designed kitchen, that not only offers space for a dining table but has a range cooker and hobs among the expected mod cons and white goods. Further along from the kitchen is a full-size bathroom, with a roll-top bath separate to the roomy shower enclosure. The bright, sophisticated and functional room has been tiled and given the same lightly-hued walls as the rest of the property. The wooden staircase on the ground floor takes you to the first floor where you will find a bedroom with a double bed, plenty of natural light and storage, and a secondary sitting room. The lounge area has a two-seater sofa and an armchair and another Smart TV. By far the most striking thing about this room though are the bi-fold doors that lead out to an excellent sitting area, fully decked and enclosed with high fencing. Perfect for catching those morning rays or enjoying a glass of wine in the evening watching the stars fill the sky. Taking the slightly winding staircase to the second floor leads you to the second bedroom that has been furnished with two single beds, an armchair and Smart TV.

On the outside of the cottage there is a short staircase that leads down from the decked area to a gravelled garden where there are trees and a nice timber walkway as well as a second sitting area.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

Dorset, a location of enduring popularity is a small rural gem of a county encompassing all of the best parts of rural England: rolling green hills, woodland and hedgerows abundant with flora and fauna running down to the sea yet situated just 3 hours from London and the South East.

The whole coastline from Exmouth to Poole has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Known as the Jurassic Coast, it is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status and offers unspoilt views with dramatic cliff-top walks alongside beautiful, safe, sandy beaches which often welcome your four-legged friends too. From the dramatic natural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland; Dorset has it all.

This South West county is also a treasure trove of secrets waiting to be discovered. Having grown out of the landscape out of the centuries, many of Dorset’s small rural towns expose history at every turn to inform and delight guests, whilst for the more energetic, footpaths and cycle-ways open up to reveal Dorset’s hidden secrets and the coast is always close at hand for those who love the water.

Why not head to Lyme Regis – classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, much like most of West Dorset to uncover an old-world ambience and excellent fossil hunting or discover the drama of Lulworth with the iconic Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.

Dorset’s towns and villages ooze quintessential charm and are graced by fine buildings which have often been immortalised in Thomas Hardy’s books, including Dorchester – his birthplace. Wherever you choose to stay, you are never far from the fascinating Jurassic Coast and World Heritage Coastal Path.
