A traditional stone cottage set within the beautiful Isle of Purbeck. Enjoy stunning views across to Corfe Castle, set out on long walks, tour the Jurassic Coast or simply light the wood burner and relax.

Enjoying a secluded hilltop position, this beautiful 18th-century property offers stunning views across the Isle of Purbeck and towards Corfe Castle. Part of a charming terrace of properties in the historic village of Kingston, this cosy and traditional stone-built period cottage provides friendly and welcoming accommodation for up to eight guests. Perfect for families and friends, the cottage is ideally placed for exploring Dorset’s stunning beaches, beautiful nature reserves and the spellbinding vistas of the Jurassic Coast.

A flagstone hallway leads you through to the warm and colourful lounge, an ideal spot to sit back and unwind with a movie on the TV or a good book in front of the wood burner. The galley-style kitchen is equipped with everything you may need for a favourite meal which you can share in the beautiful dining room. Full of character, this room has traditional ceiling beams, stone flooring and a feature fireplace. Steps lead down to a double bedroom, shower room and a bunk bedroom which has been converted from former outbuildings. The cottage also has a first-floor twin room, double room and bathroom. Due to the age of the property, there are many changes of level and character features including low doorways and areas of restricted head height, adding to its charm. The wraparound garden offers plenty of space for children and dogs to play and run. There are two terraces with outdoor furniture, so you can admire the superb far-reaching views. A traditional ha-ha runs along the bottom of the garden.

The cottage is perfect for discovering the Isle of Purbeck, with nearby attractions including Corfe Castle (2 miles), The Blue Pool (5 miles) and Dancing Ledge (3 miles). The Victorian seaside resort of Swanage (5.5 miles) has a sandy beach and thriving promenade. Nature lovers can explore several beautiful nature reserves or head out to Brownsea Island (7.5 miles). The cottage and location where fantastic we had a wonderful week. The location and the cottage are beautiful and we had a great time however in April two of the bedrooms had no heating and were freezing. The garden is not entirely enclosed and with sheep in the next field we couldnt leave our dogs unsupervised. Other than that it is a great place to stay

Although it's just three hours from London and the South East, Dorset feels like a world away from the hubbub of the city. This gem of a county offers the very best of rural England: magnificent coastal scenery, vast sandy beaches, rolling hills, charming villages, country pubs, stately homes and medieval castles.

Take time to explore the dramatic and diverse coastline. Stretching 95 miles from East Devon to Poole, the Jurassic Coast has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status. Here, visitors can uncover Earth's fascinating history whilst enjoying unspoilt views over superb beaches, many of which welcome canine companions too. From the iconic rural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland, Dorset has it all.

Why not head to Lyme Regis, classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Like much of West Dorset, it has an old-world ambience and offers excellent fossil hunting opportunities. Or head east to discover the beauty of Lulworth and the vibrant seaside resort of Swanage.

Steeped in history and with a certain quintessential charm, Dorset's glorious countryside is peppered with small towns and villages which are well worth a visit. Many are graced with fine buildings, immortalised in the books of Thomas Hardy, a Dorset-born novelist and poet. For more energetic visitors, footpaths and cycleways reveal the county's hidden secrets with the coast always close at hand for those who love the water.
