Less than 5 miles from the bustling seaside resort of Weymouth, this welcoming abode is a lovely destination for a coastal getaway. Light-filled spaces and a lovely patio area welcome you to spend quality time together before and after adventures. Sleeping five guests over three bedrooms, you’re invited to bring a pair of pups along with you so you can have a ball as a family and adventure the days away together.

One of three lovely properties, this cottage is a great home from which to explore. Kick start your day with a feast of a breakfast rustled up in the stylish kitchen/diner and enjoy an al fresco coffee on the patio, reached by stepping down through the patio doors from the lounge. Boasting lush views across the surrounding fields, bask in the fresh air before getting ready to start your day. When you return home, put your feet up on the sofa and indulge in some time in front of the TV, or lose yourself in a good book for some peace and quiet. Cook up a storm and plate up either inside or out, enjoy communal meals and raise a toast to your designated chef. After long days, head to bed in one of three charming bedrooms. The king-size bedroom boasts an en-suite, whilst the two remaining rooms share the family bathroom with shower over the bath for a quick freshen up. There is ample off-road parking.

Pack a picnic, grab your bucket and spade and head to the beach at Weymouth (4.5 miles) where dog-friendly sections welcome your pups all year round, great for a family day out. Tuck into a tasty portion of fish and chips before heading home or pick up some goodies to enjoy back at the ranch. A 19.5-mile trip along the coast brings you to the must-visit destination of Lulworth Cove, where a 1.5-mile walk above the glittering ocean takes you to Durdle Door. Nice rural location but there is road noise from the speeding traffic. For us ( 2 couples) the fridge was nowhere near big enough. The freezer was inside the fridge and tiny. We had to send back some of our grocery order because it wouldn't fit. No dishwasher but I expect that was in the spec and I hadn't noticed.

Very nice cottage, had everything we needed. Near a busy road so traffick noise a minor issue especially at night. Garden very good for our dogs, secure. Had not realised that there would be nowhere to walk them unless taken in car.

Really lovely accommodation in a nice spot. Close enough to the sea and town. Kitchen facilities were more than adequate for the few times we are in. Lovely secluded garden with a handy clothes dryer which would be handy if we were staying longer. Would stay here again.

I would recommend a dishwasher for a family of 5 instead of a washing machine. I also found that bringing our own towels, stripping our beds wasnt ideal - Id expect to be supplied with towels. Checking in late and leaving early also cut our stay short. Were so grateful to the owners for helping us out when our car battery died and we didnt have anyRead more jump cables. We had a lovely time and the added bonus of seeing a plane taking off/landing in the field behind us. Thank you. Hide

Although it's just three hours from London and the South East, Dorset feels like a world away from the hubbub of the city. This gem of a county offers the very best of rural England: magnificent coastal scenery, vast sandy beaches, rolling hills, charming villages, country pubs, stately homes and medieval castles.

Take time to explore the dramatic and diverse coastline. Stretching 95 miles from East Devon to Poole, the Jurassic Coast has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status. Here, visitors can uncover Earth's fascinating history whilst enjoying unspoilt views over superb beaches, many of which welcome canine companions too. From the iconic rural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland, Dorset has it all.

Why not head to Lyme Regis, classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Like much of West Dorset, it has an old-world ambience and offers excellent fossil hunting opportunities. Or head east to discover the beauty of Lulworth and the vibrant seaside resort of Swanage.

Steeped in history and with a certain quintessential charm, Dorset's glorious countryside is peppered with small towns and villages which are well worth a visit. Many are graced with fine buildings, immortalised in the books of Thomas Hardy, a Dorset-born novelist and poet. For more energetic visitors, footpaths and cycleways reveal the county's hidden secrets with the coast always close at hand for those who love the water.
