Cheerfully decorated in a fresh, nautical theme, this cosy hideaway is the perfect choice for a romantic getaway for two.

This cosy studio-style apartment is the perfect retreat for romantic getaways for two by the sea. Set within a small holiday complex just outside the coastal village of Charmouth, it is just 1 mile from the pebble and sandy beach, selection of eateries and Heritage Centre. Back at the apartment, the accommodation is modern and bright, opening onto a shared courtyard and lawn with BBQ for those balmy summer evenings.

Light and airy with a charming nautical theme throughout, this property is a great base from which to explore the Jurassic Coast. Rustle up tasty meals for two in the delightful modern kitchen, which together with a modern shower room is separate from the rest of the accommodation. Dine at the round table for two before settling down on the inviting sofa to enjoy a cosy evening in front of the Smart TV. When it’s time for bed, sink into the elegant four-poster double. In the morning, enjoy a cup of coffee in the sun on the shared courtyard or lawn, or take a romantic stroll around the lakes. Between May and September, a dip in the shared heated outdoor swimming pool is a great way to start the day.

This beautiful 30-acre site boasts two small lakes and a hotel with a bar, restaurant and spa facilities. Beyond the complex, the dramatic Jurassic Coast has plenty to offer. Sidmouth (20 miles), Seaton (11.5 miles) and the old fishing village of Beer (13 miles) are a short drive away, while heading inland the Blackdown Hills (12 miles) offer spectacular walks with breathtaking elevated views.

Very impressed with cottage and provisions left for us however we were not informed about the closure of the hotel so amenities such as bar ,restaurant and takeaway were not available to us despite them having outside space available. We would definitely return but only if hotel and amenities were fully available.

Although it's just three hours from London and the South East, Dorset feels like a world away from the hubbub of the city. This gem of a county offers the very best of rural England: magnificent coastal scenery, vast sandy beaches, rolling hills, charming villages, country pubs, stately homes and medieval castles.

Take time to explore the dramatic and diverse coastline. Stretching 95 miles from East Devon to Poole, the Jurassic Coast has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status. Here, visitors can uncover Earth's fascinating history whilst enjoying unspoilt views over superb beaches, many of which welcome canine companions too. From the iconic rural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland, Dorset has it all.

Why not head to Lyme Regis, classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Like much of West Dorset, it has an old-world ambience and offers excellent fossil hunting opportunities. Or head east to discover the beauty of Lulworth and the vibrant seaside resort of Swanage.

Steeped in history and with a certain quintessential charm, Dorset's glorious countryside is peppered with small towns and villages which are well worth a visit. Many are graced with fine buildings, immortalised in the books of Thomas Hardy, a Dorset-born novelist and poet. For more energetic visitors, footpaths and cycleways reveal the county's hidden secrets with the coast always close at hand for those who love the water.
