The property is tucked within a characterful, no through side street in a peaceful rural town which is surrounded by four of Dorset's highest peaks, offering excellent walking and cycle routes.

Close to the heart of town, this striking, converted chapel is perfectly situated for a fantastic getaway. Just 8 miles away is the wonderful beach at West Bay, one of many gems dotting the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and a great place to spend a family day by the sea. Perfect for small families or couples looking to escape the everyday, this home sleeps four over two bedrooms and has a private courtyard waiting to be filled with the clink of glasses as you raise a toast to a fabulous holiday.

Great for a small car, and making unpacking an easy feat, pull up and park in the off-road parking space or find a space outside on the road. Once inside, climb to the first floor where the living space welcomes you with open arms and creates an inviting hub of the home. Beautifully light and bright, the striking window is a gorgeous feature and high ceilings help to create a calm and spacious ambience. Cosy up in front of the TV before setting the table for dinner and heading into the kitchen to concoct a feast. With all you need to cater for all occasions, rustle up something delicious and then pack the leftovers into a picnic to feed you on tomorrow’s adventures. Post-dinner, descend to the ground floor and head outside to enjoy a tipple or two in the courtyard, the perfect way to end your day. With a bedroom on each floor, drift off for a peaceful night’s sleep before starting your day with a soak in the tub and an al fresco coffee.

Enjoy a gentle stroll into Beaminster where you can pick up local produce, enjoy a night off from the kitchen, and let little ones play, before heading further afield to explore. For a day filled with sea and sand, make the 8-mile trip south to West Bay where towering cliffs create a dramatic background to the golden sands and shingle where you can hunt for fossils or settle down with a delicious portion of fish and chips.

Very clean, spacious and well equipped. The owner contacted me a couple of days before to ask about any requirements which was a nice personal touch. Situated in the lovely town of Beaminster in drivable distance of some fantastic scenery both inland and on the coast. The only downside was the parking on the forecourt which would suit a really smalRead morel car. That said there is plenty of street parking as well as a public car park nearby. Hide

When we stayed (August 2020) the property appeared to have been recently refurbished and was immaculate It has everything you need and has a very elegant feel to it. There is no garden, just a courtyard. Parking space is limited, a large SUV would struggle to fit and not obstruct the pavement

Very comfortable property in the charming town on Beaminster. We enjoyed lots of meals out in the town and some nice trips to nearby West Bay and Weymouth. This is probably not the best property for families with very young children or those with limited mobility due to the steep stairs, but otherwise I would highly recommend.

Although it's just three hours from London and the South East, Dorset feels like a world away from the hubbub of the city. This gem of a county offers the very best of rural England: magnificent coastal scenery, vast sandy beaches, rolling hills, charming villages, country pubs, stately homes and medieval castles.

Take time to explore the dramatic and diverse coastline. Stretching 95 miles from East Devon to Poole, the Jurassic Coast has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status. Here, visitors can uncover Earth's fascinating history whilst enjoying unspoilt views over superb beaches, many of which welcome canine companions too. From the iconic rural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland, Dorset has it all.

Why not head to Lyme Regis, classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Like much of West Dorset, it has an old-world ambience and offers excellent fossil hunting opportunities. Or head east to discover the beauty of Lulworth and the vibrant seaside resort of Swanage.

Steeped in history and with a certain quintessential charm, Dorset's glorious countryside is peppered with small towns and villages which are well worth a visit. Many are graced with fine buildings, immortalised in the books of Thomas Hardy, a Dorset-born novelist and poet. For more energetic visitors, footpaths and cycleways reveal the county's hidden secrets with the coast always close at hand for those who love the water.
