Call this pretty cottage home and settle in for a holiday full of adventures. A great base from which to explore the magic of the Dorset coast and countryside, this humble abode provides you with a warm welcome after days out and about. Sleeping four guests across two bedrooms and welcoming two of your canine companions too, have a ball together and enjoy the outside space which is perfect for al fresco evenings and chasing your tail.

Heading inside, settle down for a while in the welcoming lounge/diner where country charm and character create an inviting atmosphere. Choose a book from the shelf and fire up the wood burner for a cosy night in, or switch on the TV/DVD for a movie night with family and friends. If the sun shines late into the evening, it’s a great idea to take a tipple outside and to savour each sip on the covered seating area. A handful of outdoor games help liven things up and you can talk to the owners and take canoes out on the River Stour or try your hand at fishing. After adventurous days, rest your heads in one of two charming bedrooms before rising and shining and freshening up in the family shower room. Kick start your day with a hot drink from the coffee machine. There is ample off-road parking.

The pretty, Georgian town of Blandford Forum is 3 miles from your door and has a lovely range of local shops including a butcher’s, a baker’s and a brewery, great for stocking the kitchen with fresh goods. Stay even closer to home and wander the network of paths and trails which wind their way around the countryside and the River Stour, perfect if you need somewhere to take the dogs for a tail wag and a stick chase. 24 miles south, the village of Corfe Castle with its National trust owned remains is a great starting destination for a day out.
