Clad in timber with far-reaching country views, this two-bedroom property is accessed via an unmade road that can be a little bumpy in places. The ground floor is the hub of the property, a spacious, open-plan room with long windows and patio doors to make the most of the surrounding views. Prepare meals in the chic corner kitchen, then gather around the dining table or outdoor picnic table to dine together while discussing your plans for the next day. Recline in the comfortable sofa next to the warming wood burner, or unwind after a country walk in the private hot tub on your outdoor terrace. With sloping ceilings adding charm and character, the two bedrooms (one king and one twin) offer restful places for a refreshing night’s sleep. In addition to your private terrace, there’s an open field for play and an all-weather tennis court. Horse owners can also request use of a stable and paddock.

The region offers several pretty towns to explore too, including the market town of Sturminster Newton (3 miles), home to a working water mill, and the pretty Georgian town of Blandford Mill (7 miles), where you can visit a local museum and sample a tipple in the brewery.
