One-of-two properties located in the picturesque village of West Lulworth, a historic fishing village next to the beautiful Lulworth Cove, and just a thirty-minute walk to the iconic Durdle Door.

Escape to beautiful Dorset with a stay at this spacious holiday home for eight in West Lulworth. Wander 1 mile down to magical Lulworth Cove to spend long days in the sunshine of the Jurassic Coast, then walk a further mile along the coast to the famous rock arch of Durdle Door. Take in the spectacular views and enjoy the abundance of colourful wildflowers. Head back after days out in the fresh sea air to relax in your garden and take in views over the undulating countryside towards the large chalk hill of Hambury Tout.

Step into this bright property, which is one of two adjacent sister properties, to find spacious accommodation with a calm ambience. Enter at ground-floor level, where two of your bedrooms and your family bathroom are situated. There is also a washing machine on this floor. Make your way up to your main living space on the first floor, where the bright kitchen/diner/lounge forms the hub of the home. Cook delicious homecooked meals in here, dine together, and unwind with a good book or DVD. Find your two additional, adjoining bedrooms as well as an en-suite bathroom, on the second floor above. As they are located in the eaves, there is some reduced head height. Open the doors from the kitchen/diner when the weather is warm and step out on to the balcony. Watch the children as they play on the steep lawn and dine alfresco in the fresh air.

Follow the South West Coast Path from Lulworth Cove for as far as you wish. Keen walkers can make the 14-mile journey to Worth Matravers, pausing to look out to sea for dolphins and to hunt for fossils on the beach at Kimmeridge Bay. Spend time in Weymouth, 15 miles away, where you can enjoy the sandy beach, browse in the shops, and stroll along the promenade as you enjoy an ice cream.

Tess Corner was a great place to stay. Eight of us were able to stay comfortably for a week and there was plenty of space. The facilities were good and the location was excellent as it was just a short stroll down to the cove.

Great location in the village with an easy walk to the cove with all the amenities it has to offer. The views are beautiful and the living area on the middle floor is bright and spacious. The garden area is on a steep slope and has not had any part of it levelled so is a bit of a wasted space (similar cottages nearby have cut into the hill to creatRead moree a series of terraces allowing the garden to be used and appreciate the glorious location) Hide

An ideal cottage and location for a wedding at Lulworth Castle. With its light and airy living space, it provided a comfortable base to bring family members together for a holiday and the upstairs suite of 2 interconnecting rooms with en-suite bathroom was ideal for a family group with young children.

Although it's just three hours from London and the South East, Dorset feels like a world away from the hubbub of the city. This gem of a county offers the very best of rural England: magnificent coastal scenery, vast sandy beaches, rolling hills, charming villages, country pubs, stately homes and medieval castles.

Take time to explore the dramatic and diverse coastline. Stretching 95 miles from East Devon to Poole, the Jurassic Coast has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status. Here, visitors can uncover Earth's fascinating history whilst enjoying unspoilt views over superb beaches, many of which welcome canine companions too. From the iconic rural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland, Dorset has it all.

Why not head to Lyme Regis, classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Like much of West Dorset, it has an old-world ambience and offers excellent fossil hunting opportunities. Or head east to discover the beauty of Lulworth and the vibrant seaside resort of Swanage.

Steeped in history and with a certain quintessential charm, Dorset's glorious countryside is peppered with small towns and villages which are well worth a visit. Many are graced with fine buildings, immortalised in the books of Thomas Hardy, a Dorset-born novelist and poet. For more energetic visitors, footpaths and cycleways reveal the county's hidden secrets with the coast always close at hand for those who love the water.
