Converted in 2020, this stylish single-storey property is ideally placed for a romantic break touring the Jurassic Coast, before returning to relax and unwind in comfortable, contemporary surroundings

Wonderful for romantic retreats, this spacious cabin sits close to both coast and countryside- perfect for enjoying adventurous days exploring before returning for cosy nights in. Bright and light with bursts of colour, the fresh tones create a welcoming and tranquil ambience in which to relax after days in the great outdoors. Backed by a beautiful Georgian seafront, the beach at Weymouth is just 4 miles from your door and has glittering seas for refreshing dips.

Follow the driveway (shared with the farm) and warm your feet on the inviting underfloor heating as you step inside this home from home. Unpack your bags in the beautifully light bedroom where you will enjoy peaceful night’s sleeps and snuggly lazy mornings. Once unpacked, head to the open-plan living space which flows from the lounge area, to the dining space and into the kitchen. Pluck a book from the shelf or switch on the TV and put your feet up on the comfortable sofa for some downtime. When it’s time to get fed, cook up a storm in the cool kitchen with all you need to prepare feasts. Cool your drink with ice from the ice compartment and take a tipple outside to the garden with its pretty patio and blooming shrubs and trees which offer you a spot of al fresco privacy. Freshen up in the contemporary shower room and pop muddy, sandy clothes in the washing machine, sitting in a cupboard, so you can get up and head straight out for adventures in the morning. There is off-road parking for one car.

For a day by the sea, head into Weymouth (4 miles) and treat yourselves to a delicious lunch in between sunbathing and swimming. A 15-mile trip along the coast will take you to the horseshoe-shaped cove at Lulworth, from where you can walk 1.5 miles to admire the spectacular arch at Durdle Door. Steeped in history, visit the Victorian Nothe Fort (5 miles) and the ancient ruins of the cliffside castle, Sandsfoot (5 miles).

The Cabin was perfect! Everything you could need and in the perfect location to explore Dorset. We stayed with our young daughter and she loved waking up and seeing the sheep right outside every morning. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family family

We spent a lovely week at The Cabin. It is in a very quiet rural location but within easy reach of Weymouth. Everything inside was pristine and it was very well equipped. The underfloor heating made it very cosy and the bed was extremely comfy. The Cabin is an L shaped wooden structure in a very peaceful area. It is very light and airy and has been decorated and furnished in a modern but very charming way. Clearly a lot of thought and good taste have gone into this property. It is also very well equipped. It is close to Weymouth and Dorchester. I would certainly stay there again.

What a fantastic place. The accommodation had all the basics and the owners also considered the little extras for the kitchen to enable us to stay safe and self contained. Newly completed with spacious one bedroom accommodation, kitchen, dining, lounge area and shower room. Outside patio was secluded and benefited from the sun most of the day. The Read moreaccommodation was spotlessly clean and perfect for a couple looking for a relaxed costal break in a lovely location. Hide

Although it's just three hours from London and the South East, Dorset feels like a world away from the hubbub of the city. This gem of a county offers the very best of rural England: magnificent coastal scenery, vast sandy beaches, rolling hills, charming villages, country pubs, stately homes and medieval castles.

Take time to explore the dramatic and diverse coastline. Stretching 95 miles from East Devon to Poole, the Jurassic Coast has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status. Here, visitors can uncover Earth's fascinating history whilst enjoying unspoilt views over superb beaches, many of which welcome canine companions too. From the iconic rural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland, Dorset has it all.

Why not head to Lyme Regis, classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Like much of West Dorset, it has an old-world ambience and offers excellent fossil hunting opportunities. Or head east to discover the beauty of Lulworth and the vibrant seaside resort of Swanage.

Steeped in history and with a certain quintessential charm, Dorset's glorious countryside is peppered with small towns and villages which are well worth a visit. Many are graced with fine buildings, immortalised in the books of Thomas Hardy, a Dorset-born novelist and poet. For more energetic visitors, footpaths and cycleways reveal the county's hidden secrets with the coast always close at hand for those who love the water.
