A stunning barn conversion that sets you at the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside. Perfect for those looking for a peaceful family escape away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Sitting on the edge of the Cranborne Chase AONB, find yourselves with plenty of places to explore when calling this cottage home. The sociable, open-plan living space is perfect for spending time in before and after adventures and the grounds (shared with other properties on the complex) are fantastic for using when the sun shines bright and long. Sleeping four guests across two bedrooms with two pups welcome along too, escape to Dorset with family and friends and settle in at this welcoming bolthole.

Step up and into the heart of the home and begin filling the cupboards with provisions before you put the kettle on for a welcoming cup of tea. Exposed beams and tranquil tones create a characterful yet calm ambience which is perfect for all occasions and is a great space in which to enjoy quality time together. Settle on the sofa or head into the kitchen area to cook up a storm before popping open a bottle or two to raise a toast to the chef. Dine inside or out and devour delicious feasts together before challenging little ones to bounce the night away on the trampoline, score goals or swing and slide to their heart’s content (play equipment shared with other properties on the complex). After dinner and games, rinse off in your en-suite shower room before getting tucked under the covers for a relaxing night’s sleep. There is ample off-road parking.

Hop in the car and travel 30 miles to the beautiful city of Bath with its gorgeous architecture, variety of shops and eateries and waterside walks. Bath is well worth a day trip and has lots to offer for guests of all ages. Should you fancy something closer home, the historic town of Sherborne has a pair of castles and a majestic abbey to visit and is steeped in interesting history. 14 miles from your door, entertain little ones with a trip to the fantastic Longleat Safari Park.

Cottage very comfy but overlooked. Had to buy a cooking spoon but otherwise very well equipped.Large bed was bliss but twin ones need bedding addressing if it's adult using them. States Dog Friendly but there are a lot of rules and warnings about rights to charge for cleaning hairs etc, and all white bedrooms was so hard to keep clean when hairs geRead moret on clothes etc. Having to take dog round corner 3am for toilet trip when it's dark on uneven gravel bit scary. Did feel 2000 was too much to pay. Hide

A nice property, good location. The bedrooms are excellent one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in on a holiday property. Also each bedroom had its own bathroom which you do not find in many holiday properties.

If you have a dog, this is a wonderful choice, both of cottage and location. The owners have provided a paddock at the back of the cottages where the dogs can exercise off-lead early in the morning and late at night. It is around a 20 minute walk from the local village of Semley, which I also walked around each morning with my pooch. There is a daiRead morery farm in the village, that sells it's own delicious milk. The cottage is about an hour's drive from the Dorset coast and 10 minutes from Shaftsbury. Hide

This cottage is great value for money and the perfect amount of space for our family of four. It was good to have a nice big fridge and full size freezer. The kitchen is surprisingly spacious and has sufficient storage and worktop space. It is a good location for family days out such as Paultons Park, Longleat, Wardour Castle and Stourhead. We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Dove cottages! 3 adults and one dog. We really couldnt fault the accommodation or its location! The cottage had everything needed! Comfortable and cosy lounge, lovely bedrooms, both with en-suites. The location was perfect, 50 mins from Bath. 15 mins from Shaftesbury and Gold Hill (from the famous HoviRead mores ad). The area has plenty of Dog friendly pubs, places to visit, even shops. My dog loved it! We will definitely be returning! Hide

Clean, tidy and comfortable. Plenty of comfortable chairs both for lounging and dining. Outside seating and a barbecue are provided too. For those with dogs the very close field is wonderful, and possibly useful for energetic children too! Plenty of bins for disposing rubbish and recycling too, when needed, and nicely out of sight but not too far aRead moreway. Hide

We were greeted by the friendly host and made feel very welcome. Eggs laid by the hens were delicious!, thank you! The cottage was comfortable and well equipped,. Some interior fixtures and fittings were not the same as the photographs on the website - obviously there have been some changes since they were taken. Garden was a little neglected. TherRead moree was a helpful folder in the property with suggestions of places to visit. We ate at The Coppleridge Inn on Steak Night - highly recommended! Hide

The rural location is brilliant for stargazingn never seen so many stars, fantastic for us as there is too much light pollution where we live. Shaftesbury is a beautiful area with much to see and do nearby in our short stay.

Although it's just three hours from London and the South East, Dorset feels like a world away from the hubbub of the city. This gem of a county offers the very best of rural England: magnificent coastal scenery, vast sandy beaches, rolling hills, charming villages, country pubs, stately homes and medieval castles.

Take time to explore the dramatic and diverse coastline. Stretching 95 miles from East Devon to Poole, the Jurassic Coast has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status. Here, visitors can uncover Earth's fascinating history whilst enjoying unspoilt views over superb beaches, many of which welcome canine companions too. From the iconic rural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland, Dorset has it all.

Why not head to Lyme Regis, classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Like much of West Dorset, it has an old-world ambience and offers excellent fossil hunting opportunities. Or head east to discover the beauty of Lulworth and the vibrant seaside resort of Swanage.

Steeped in history and with a certain quintessential charm, Dorset's glorious countryside is peppered with small towns and villages which are well worth a visit. Many are graced with fine buildings, immortalised in the books of Thomas Hardy, a Dorset-born novelist and poet. For more energetic visitors, footpaths and cycleways reveal the county's hidden secrets with the coast always close at hand for those who love the water.
