There are breathtaking walks along the coast which is just a mile away, with the coastal path leading you to Chapman’s Pool (1.5 miles) and to Lulworth Cove (16 miles). Nearby is the vibrant seaside town of Swanage (4.5 miles), which is known for its beautiful sandy beach and its traditional promenade and pier. From Swanage, you can catch a steam train which will take you to Corfe Castle, a charming village with thatched cottages and the ruins of a medieval castle. You can also visit Studland (6.5 miles) or catch a ferry to Poole or to Brownsea Island.

A couple of steps lead up to the porch of this stylish reverse-level holiday home. On entering, head upstairs to the first floor where you will find the spacious triple-aspect open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This light and tastefully designed area makes an ideal space for relaxing in at the end of a great day, with solid oak flooring, a vaulted ceiling (reduced height at eaves) and full-length sliding doors leading out onto a balcony with glass balustrade. The comfortable lounge features plenty of seating, a traditional wood burner and Smart TV/DVD with Netflix. The dining area is perfect for enjoying a family meal, and the kitchen features a central island unit, reclaimed wooden work-tops, two fridges, a dishwasher, oven, microwave, freezer and washing machine. Stepping out onto the large, decked balcony you can sit back with a drink and admire the magnificent sea views. There’s also a first-floor WC. Going back down to the ground floor you will find four cosy bedrooms. There are two double rooms with a 5’ bed and sea views. One of the doubles has an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. There are also two twin bedrooms. The ground floor features a utility cupboard which houses the dryer and a hall where you can leave boots and coats.

Heading outside, the back garden is mainly laid to lawn, and is surrounded by shrubs and trees. There’s also a swing seat and a raised decked area with access to the ground-floor bedrooms. A choice of outdoor furniture enables you to relax and enjoy an al fresco meal. Ample parking is available on the gravelled drive.

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

Dorset, a location of enduring popularity is a small rural gem of a county encompassing all of the best parts of rural England: rolling green hills, woodland and hedgerows abundant with flora and fauna running down to the sea yet situated just 3 hours from London and the South East.

The whole coastline from Exmouth to Poole has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Known as the Jurassic Coast, it is the only natural phenomenon in England to achieve this status and offers unspoilt views with dramatic cliff-top walks alongside beautiful, safe, sandy beaches which often welcome your four-legged friends too. From the dramatic natural rock arch at Durdle Door to the endless sandy expanses of Studland; Dorset has it all.

This South West county is also a treasure trove of secrets waiting to be discovered. Having grown out of the landscape out of the centuries, many of Dorset’s small rural towns expose history at every turn to inform and delight guests, whilst for the more energetic, footpaths and cycle-ways open up to reveal Dorset’s hidden secrets and the coast is always close at hand for those who love the water.

Why not head to Lyme Regis – classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, much like most of West Dorset to uncover an old-world ambience and excellent fossil hunting or discover the drama of Lulworth with the iconic Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.

Dorset’s towns and villages ooze quintessential charm and are graced by fine buildings which have often been immortalised in Thomas Hardy’s books, including Dorchester – his birthplace. Wherever you choose to stay, you are never far from the fascinating Jurassic Coast and World Heritage Coastal Path.
