Enjoying an elevated position and built from local Purbeck stone, this attractive detached property offers glorious views of the Dorset coast and countryside and makes a wonderful family retreat.

Set among the Purbeck Hills, the idyllic coastal village of Worth Matravers makes a tranquil base for a relaxing Dorset holiday. There are breathtaking walks along the coast which is just a mile away, with the coastal path leading you to Chapman’s Pool (1.5 miles) and to Lulworth Cove (16 miles). Nearby is the vibrant seaside town of Swanage (4.5 miles), which is known for its beautiful sandy beach and its traditional promenade and pier. From Swanage, you can catch a steam train which will take you to Corfe Castle, a charming village with thatched cottages and the ruins of a medieval castle. You can also visit Studland (6.5 miles) or catch a ferry to Poole or to Brownsea Island.

A couple of steps lead up to the porch of this stylish reverse-level holiday home. On entering, head upstairs to the first floor where you will find the spacious triple-aspect open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This light and tastefully designed area makes an ideal space for relaxing in at the end of a great day, with solid oak flooring, a vaulted ceiling (reduced height at eaves) and full-length sliding doors leading out onto a balcony with glass balustrade. The comfortable lounge features plenty of seating, a traditional wood burner and Smart TV/DVD with Netflix. The dining area is perfect for enjoying a family meal, and the kitchen features a central island unit, reclaimed wooden work-tops, two fridges, a dishwasher, oven, microwave, freezer and washing machine. Stepping out onto the large, decked balcony you can sit back with a drink and admire the magnificent sea views. There’s also a first-floor WC. Going back down to the ground floor you will find four cosy bedrooms. There are two double rooms with a 5’ bed and sea views. One of the doubles has an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. There are also two twin bedrooms. The ground floor features a utility cupboard which houses the dryer and a hall where you can leave boots and coats.

Heading outside, the back garden is mainly laid to lawn, and is surrounded by shrubs and trees. There’s also a swing seat and a raised decked area with access to the ground-floor bedrooms. A choice of outdoor furniture enables you to relax and enjoy an al fresco meal. Ample parking is available on the gravelled drive.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
