This traditional Grade II listed cottage has period features throughout and makes an excellent family or group getaway, with a separate coach house boasting its own living quarters for extra privacy.

Situated in the historic village of Hawkchurch, this beautiful property provides cosy and comfortable holiday accommodation for up to eight guests. A fantastic base for exploring the glorious coast and countryside of Devon and Dorset, the cottage is perfect for a larger family or a group of friends. Thoughtfully updated and tastefully furnished, this delightful Grade II-listed getaway dates back over 500 years and is set just opposite the village’s war memorial. With period features throughout, the cottage has direct access to the Monarch’s Way making it ideal for keen walkers and cyclists.

You will find a welcoming lounge with exposed beams, a parquet floor, an original bread oven and fireplace with an open fire – perfect for relaxing in front of in the evenings. The light and inviting kitchen/diner is great for sharing a fantastic family meal. Three steps lead down to a small study with a window seat and a selection of books. Heading upstairs, there are three cosy bedrooms with exposed beams and reduced height in the eaves. Leave the main cottage and cross the garden to the charming coach house which is an additional single-level stone cottage and can sleep a further two guests (on request and at additional charge). Here you will find a beautiful lounge/diner with a stunning vaulted beamed ceiling, a wood burner, a TV/DVD and a lovely beamed double bedroom. The enclosed front garden features paved terraces on a split level with flowers and shrubs. Heading into the large enclosed back garden, there’s a charming lawn and patio with garden furniture making this an ideal space to sit back and enjoy a warm and tranquil evening.

Perfect for exploring both coast and countryside, the cottage is within easy reach of the popular seaside town of Lyme Regis (7 miles) and the picturesque rural town of Axminster (3 miles). Hawkchurch also nestles perfectly between the Dorset and Blackdown Hills Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (both within 2 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We loved the house, it's roomy with ample room for our family, and very attractively furnished. The beds are super comfortable. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. perhaps unusually for a holiday home, it has an office, which we did find useful as one of our group had to work for part of each day. The garden is very pretty and sunny until well Read moreinto the evening - we really enjoyed eating outside. It is completely enclosed so we could let our two dogs play outside. lovely quirky cottage in a quiet location but a short drive to many great locations. beautiful mature garden with plenty of furniture to enjoy al fresco dining. the kitchen was well stocked with all the pots, pans etc. needed for a large family gathering.

Typical listed building character cottage. Loads of quirky features as you would expect for a building that age. Few areas may need re plaster and painting etc but nothing major. Great place to second my sixtieth birthday. There are mice running around the roof though which you can hear at night. The annex was brilliant. Wytch Green is a superbly appointed and comfortable cottage in a very relaxing setting. It offers a great base from which to explore the Devon and Dorset areas. Thoroughly recommended.

Quaint cottage - very good facilities. The Aga in the kitchen is a lovely feature and keeps this part of the house warm. Heating plus log firs were very good.

This cottage is beautiful and so well equipped. The owners have really thought of everything which made our stay just lovely.
