Dorset Coastal Cottages’ Charities

Donate a pound and protect what you’ve come to enjoy…

Help preserve Dorset’s magnificent coast and countryside.

We hope you will donate £1 (or more!) to these worthwhile organisations whose work you will be able to appreciate when you visit. Simply choose an amount using the drop-down menu on the booking form and add your donation to the deposit. We will keep your donation in a separate account and hand it over (plus interest!) together with our own contribution at the end of each year.

South West Coast Path Association

At 630 miles, the South West Coast Path is the longest national trail in the UK. Running from the shores of Poole Harbour, around Land’s End and finishing at Minehead in Somerset, you can walk the whole of Dorset’s Jurassic Coast along it.

The South West Coast Path Association are the charity which cares for this world-famous trail. They work to secure the way to hidden coves, caves and the sea, to support and educate visitors to make the most of the unique region the Path links up, to provide a safe corridor where local plants and wildlife can flourish, and ultimately, to ensure that wild and beautiful coastal landscapes can be enjoyed by everyone. Their team of volunteers across the South West monitor the footpath to help ensure improvement projects are focused in the right areas, especially after storm damage. It costs over £1,000 per mile, each year, just to keep the Path maintained and open, so they really do appreciate your support.

Swanage Pier Trust

Most holidays in Dorset include at least one visit to Swanage.

The town exudes old world English seaside charm and this culminates in Swanage’s famous pier, which receives over 120,000 visitors each year and forms a fundamental part of Swanage tourism.

We are very proud to sponsor such a well-loved local landmark and heritage feature on the Jurassic Coast.
