Another madcap New Year’s Day tradition. At 1pm on the Cobb beach, fancy dress is encouraged (though not essential!) as the bold and the brave take the plunge into Lyme Bay to raise money for charity. Heads will be cleared but spirits are never dampened!

Blessing of the Boats
Join the RNLI outside the boathouse at The Cobb as wreaths are blessed and taken out to sea to commemorate those that have been lost.
The last weekend in May sees some of the best new and traditional live music come to Lyme Regis.
Held at Lyme Regis’s vibrant Town Mill quarter, this festival of milling, music, art and food coincides with National Mills Weekend and the start of Real bread Week.
This wonderful fundraising event welcomes musicians and audiences of all ages to enjoy and celebrate music around the town.
This impressive festival mixes the music of creative young people with headline acts from all over the world. Performers are also involved in the organisation and promotion of the event.
A week full of of fun to support the RNLI at Lyme Regis. A Teddy Bears Picnic, Duck race and fireworks are just a few of the events scheduled.
Somers Day Parade
A celebration of Admiral George Somers, former Mayor of Lyme Regis. The parade runs along Broad Street, Marine Parade and ends on the Cobb.
A week packed with more than 60 events to raise money for local schools, charities and community events. The grand Carnival Procession at the end of the week is not to be missed!
Started as a vision of Mark Hix, this festival will see over 40 exhibitors promoting the quality and diversity of Dorset’s food and drink. Don’t miss the HIX Academy cook-off on the main stage.

Yuletide Lyme continues with madcap events like the Christmas Pudding Race (a local athlete dressed as a Christmas Pudding is chased by Santas!) and ends with an evening of reflection at Rotary’s Carols Round the Christmas Tree on 23rd December (music provided by Lyme Regis Town Band!).
