An Al Fresco Cafe open during the summer months on the Swanage Seafront with views over the bay. They specialise in shellfish and seafood and have 18 flavours of ice cream. Grab yourself a pint of prawns or a whole lobster and while away the hours taking in the beautiful views.

The Cabin, Swanage

Tucked away at the eastern end of the beach under The Grand Hotel is this friendly beach cafe serves good food and wine with views across Swanage Bay.

The Fish Plaice or Harlees, Swanage

Two great options for fish and chips by the sea – a must!

Clavell’s Cafe and Restaurant, Kimmeridge

An award winning family run cafe selling home made seasonal produce from their own Purbeck Farm, seafood solely from the Dorset coastline, cheese from Worth Matravers  and Purbeck Ice Cream. Within a mile of Kimmeridge Bay it’s the perfect place to stop before or after the beach. You can also buy their farm’s meat at the cafe.

Seventhwave Cafe and Restaurant, Durlston Country Park, Swanage

This cafe/restaurant located in the Durlston Country Park and National Nature Reserve has stunning views of the Purbeck Coastline. Take a walk through the park to the lighthouse and enjoy the wildlife on offer.

Lovely tea room opposite the duck pond in the centre of the village using locally sourced produce for a fabulous lunch or afternoon tea. Also open Fridays and Saturdays for dinner for most of the year, and more at busier times.

National Trust Cafe, Knoll Beach, Studland

A beach cafe on the sand at Studland just behind the sand dunes featuring local and organic food by the sea. The majority of the food comes from the NT’s estate including venison and Red Devon Beef. A great place to unwind after a swim or walk along the beach, dine in front of the fire or outside on the sand.

Joes Cafe, South Beach, Studland

A Dorset institution this beach shack cafe has local, organic and fair trade produce and Purbeck Ice Cream. It is the perfect end or start to the Jurassic Coast walk or sail in and sample the famous flapjacks.

The Tea Rooms, Corfe Castle

This is a beautifully situated tearoom, sitting in a 17th century courtyard right next to the castle itself.  It has a lovely atmosphere with a log fire in the winter and an alfresco dining experience during the summer.  They bake all their own cakes and scones and do all  the cooking on the premises. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced and in the Summer herbs and salads come from the kitchen garden. They are also fully licensed. Well worth a visit for a cream tea!

Love Cake Too!, Corfe Castle

Delicious homemade cakes which are just to die for and fabulous coffee. Love Cake Too in Corfe Castle is a great place for elevensies, lunch or a quiet relaxing afternoon tea.
