Dorset is a foodies wonderland, put simply our little part of the world contains many of the best local food producers in the country. Restaurants like River Cottage, The Wild Garlic and Hix Oyster and Fish House and Sienna wouldn’t be as famed as they are without being able to locally source their excellent ingredients.
No matter where in Dorset you book your self catering holiday cottage you are sure to be near a top notch farm shop selling the very best in the area. In addition we have excellent local fishmongers and butchers for you to source your extra special dinner during your stay.

Situated between Wareham and Wool on the Isle of Purbeck, Home Farm is not just your average farm shop. In addition to having a spectacular range of Dorset home grown produce, there’s also a tea room, garden nursery and an enormous Pick Your Own field open from June to October. Not many farm shops can claim to be a one stop shop but Holme Farm really does have everything that you’d need for a spectacular meal in your self catering holiday cottage: from local fresh meat and cheeses to Chococo’s Swanage based hand made chocolates.

Award winning craft cider, still hand pressed on a traditional twin screw press. The cider is pressed from a blend of Dorset Cider apples fermented slowly over the winter months then matured in oak casks. It’s a far different product from commercial cider as it contains nothing but 100% cider apple juice! They also make very good cider vinegar and wonderful freshly pressed apple juice (in season). Callers by appointment are most welcome, for tastings and cider sales direct from the cider shed. Please phone Martin to avoid disappointment.
