Sleeping eight guests, this dog-friendly holiday home near Horton village (1 mile) is the perfect getaway for families or friends who want to explore rural Dorset. With ample room for everyone to find their own favourite nook, this architectural masterpiece offers magnificent open-plan interiors. It’s part of a complex of properties, and within 3 miles of a shop and a pub. The pretty market town of Wimborne Minster is 8 miles away, and you’re close to the Holt Heath National Nature Reserve (2.5 miles), and the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (3 miles).

 

Step inside this historic barn, refurbished with contemporary design and bright interiors with an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. Admire the lofty vaulted ceiling, and cosy up by the wood burner. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen and catch up on the day over home-cooked meals. Choose from the double bedroom en-suite or the king-size bedroom with a shower (and separate WC) on the ground floor; or take the cottage-style stairs up to the king-size en-suite bedroom, or a separate staircase to the mezzanine snug, and super-king-size en-suite bedroom with a Juliet balcony. Enjoy freshly-ground morning coffee at the breakfast bar, before setting out for the day. Head outside from the living area to the enclosed garden and be inspired to dine alfresco by the outdoor kitchen.

 

Discover the charming market town of Blandford Forum (13 miles) with its array of shops, cafes and restaurants, plus regular markets. Enjoy a family cycle in the New Forest National Park (10 miles). Navigate cycle trails or fly through the tree-tops on a zip-line adventure in Moors Valley Country Park (5 miles), or head for the lively seaside resort of Bournemouth (16 miles) to enjoy sparkling seas, sandy beaches, and family-friendly attractions. Nice week had by all in Dorset! Lovely big house for our party to move around in and a lovely secluded back garden which was good for the dog to run around in!

Over all cottage was good, just a bit more attention to detail. I have said I would recommend it in the hope these things will be addressed.

A beautiful house to stay in and brilliant location. Decorated for Christmas which our children loved! We had a mix of adults and children stay and there was plenty nearby to do for all. Would love to return in summer and make the most of the outdoor kitchen space.

Lovely property with great space for all the family. Great location to explore both Dorset and the New Forest plus easy access to Bournemouth and Poole. Excellent outdoor space that feels secluded from other cottages on site.

Lovely large property with all the qualities to be a 5 star holiday home. Requires some finishing touches with requards to decor. Found getting hold of owners difficult and even when you text they don't respond which was disappointing. This could be a great holiday home but let down by little things considering the price.
