4.5 miles from the bustling seaside resort of Weymouth, pack your bags and head to this welcoming barn-conversion for a coastal getaway. Sleeping four across two bedrooms, this home also welcomes a pair of pups so you can adventure your days away with all the family.

Step inside and find yourselves in the heart of the home- the open-plan lounge/ kitchen where you can spend plenty of time. When it’s time to feed hungry tummies, the kitchen has all you need to cook up a storm and the fridge has an ice compartment to chill your summer drinks. Come rain or shine, enjoy communal meals which can be plated up at the dining table which comfortably seats all guests, or step down from the lounge and take dishes outside and bask in the last of the sun as you tuck into an al fresco feast. Before bed, soak in the tub in the family bathroom or rinse away the day in the master bedroom en-suite then rest your head in either the double bedroom or the twin bedroom. After rising and shining, kick start your day with an al fresco coffee or warming mug of tea before heading out to explore. There is ample off-road parking.

For a traditional bucket-and-spade day out, head to Weymouth where designated sections welcome dogs all year round. Paddle in the water, build sandcastles and tuck into fish and chips for a family-friendly trip to the seaside. Perfect for little ones, Monkey World and the Dinosaur Museum are both within 20 miles of home. This was an excellent holiday cottage . It was clean and very comfortable. We especially liked having reclining settees, and the beds were brilliant. The setting is peaceful with pleasant views over countryside from the lounge window. We will definitely book again for next year.

Cottage was really spotlessly clean and well specked, ideally situated for shopping, pubs and an array of different eating venues. Also really handy for Weymouth town centre 4 miles away and the coastal route to abbotsbury swannery and west bay.

The cottage is an ideal location for visiting the south coast either side of Weymouth, which is also where you can take a ferry for a day trip to the Channel Islands. Lulworth Cove (to the east) and Bridport/West Bay (to the west) are good to visit, and Weymouth beach ideal for beach activities. Just one drawback is that it is located off a fairly Read morebusy road, with no footpaths down the sides, so you need to get in the car to go to the pub or to the shops, or to take the dog for a walk.
