Stunning cottage in a nice remote location. The wood burning hot tub was fab - it took a little time to heat up but once at temperature stayed warm for ages. Loved sitting at the bedroom juliette balcony window looking out across the fields, watching the sheep and cows. Very restful and relaxing which is what we needed. My partner and I stayed here for a week at the end of July. The property was easy to find, was very clean, cosy and to our taste.The location was a perfect base for us we got to visit so many different places all within a sensible driving time. The hot tub we found hard work but we've never lit fires before so could be why! It takes a few hours to Read morewarm so plan ahead when you want to use it. Set in a stunning peaceful location. The Cottage has everything you could possibly need, even a picnic hamper! The hosts are very friendly and on hand if you need them. Absolutely beautiful cottage decorated brilliantly and in the most amazing landscape. The backyard area is very functional for allowing dogs in the fresh air while keeping them in. The Wooden Hot Tub is fantastic. Need to plan ahead as told and its easy to get to temperature and a cold water hose means you can bring below 40 degrees C if you go oveRead morer. We had an excellent time at the cottage. There was more than enough space for the two of us plus our small dog. The small enclosed rear patio area was ideal and the larger lawned area was also secure. The country views were lovely and there are plenty of walking routes. Fantastic and well kept cottage. Great to use as a base to explore local area or just relax in if the weather is bad. The wood fired hot tub takes bit of getting used to but is great luxury and enjoyed the additional relaxation it brought. Owners were very helpful and would highly recommend this place

We had an amazing stay at no 1 the Curwens, the accommodation is spectacular, we loved the hot tub and the hosts were very friendly and always available to help. The property was very clean. Also with a dog we appreciated the large secure field, we will definitely return.

Perfect short break with our Cockerpoo puppy. Loki loved the Grounds and all the walks on the doorstep. Beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly require for a comfortable and cosy break. The hot tub was wonderful on a chilly evening! We took our dog and enjoyed some amazing walks, especially the Melbury Beacon which is right on your doorstep. Shaftesbury is quaint with some lovely pubs and cute shops. We had a wonderful time.

Delightful, quiet setting with lovely surroundings and views. The cottage was everything I hoped for and more; spotlessly clean with quality fittings throughout and just a wonderful place to relax. Thoroughly enjoyed walking around Shaftesbury and the wonderful snowdrop festival was great.

We had a perfect break at curwens. I cannot recommend it enough, the cottage was beautiful - perfect for dog owners as there is a fully enclosed small garden, a larger one behind and also miles of countryside opposite which you just cross a very quiet lane and from there is completely safe for off lead walking. We have a one year old and the hosts Read moregave us a stair gate for the stairs and fire, which made it child friendly and took the stress off us which was great. Hide

We stayed over New Years and had an amazing 2 day break. The cottage was really cozy and very well equipped and the hot tub is a fantastic feature. The location is stunning overlooking Melbury Hill and we really enjoyed the walk to Shaftesbury.

We loved our long weekend here at No 1 Curwens. The cottage is one of best we have stayed at. We went with the idea of not using the hot tub, but after talking to Hannah we decided to give it a go. Sitting in the tub, the smell of the wood burner, the sound of the local wildlife and the frosty evening was fantastic. Will definitely return soon
