This beautifully renovated thatched cottage, set in the chocolate box village of Burton Bradstock, is the perfect rural retreat for large groups looking for a slice of peace and tranquillity.

Dating back over 300 years and part of a row of pretty, thick-walled stone thatched cottages, this charming property has been lovingly converted to provide welcoming family accommodation in a picturesque Dorset village. Nestling in a side lane by the church, this former village butcher’s makes a lovely holiday getaway for up to eight guests looking to explore the local countryside and the stunning coast which is just half a mile away. Retaining original features, including exposed beams, stonework and flagstone floors, this attractive cottage offers comfort and style in beautiful surroundings.

Entering via the thatched porch, you will find a cosy and inviting snug with an inglenook stone fireplace and exposed beams. Exploring further, the light and peaceful lounge is perfect for relaxing in at the end of the day. There’s also a light and airy dining room with a feature stone wall and French doors leading out to the garden. The stylish kitchen is fully equipped for preparing your favourite meals. You can play darts, snooker or table tennis in the games room. Heading up the first floor, there are three beautiful bedrooms: a twin room and two super king-size – one with an en-suite shower room. A very steep flight of cottage-style stairs leads you up to the second floor and a cosy beamed twin bedroom with a low ceiling. The charming south-facing back garden has a patio ideal for enjoying an al fresco meal. Four steps lead to the raised garden with a lawn, shrubs, flower beds and a palm tree.

The secluded and sandy Hive Beach (0.5 miles) is nearby, with West Bay (2 miles), Eype (4 miles) and Golden Cap (7 miles) all within easy reach. Popular local towns and villages include Lyme Regis (12.5 miles), Abbotsbury (7 miles) and Bridport (3 miles). This is a fantastic base for keen walkers, nature-lovers, cyclists and golfers.

Such a lovely cottage that comfortably slept 8 of us. Lovely little touch of complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. It is perfectly located in a lovely little village, just a short walking distance from the beach. We absolutely loved the games room and would have loved to stay there longer!

Absolutely blown away by the Old Butchers , it had everything we needed and was done to a very high standard! Was in the perfect location being only a 10 min walk to the beach, park / local pub / shop. Stunning village and a great place to celebrate the Queens Jubilee with our family !!

A simply beautiful cottage in a very picturesque village. The cottage has everything you need and more! A lovely space for a group to stay. Hive beach is a 10 min walk away. The Old Butchers was fantastic. It was incredibly clean and had everything we could possibly need. The games room was used A LOT by the boys and they were very thankful for the heater in there. Fabulous cottage, plenty of space for all of us ( 5 adults plus 2 dogs) Best bed I have ever slept in, which includes my own. Had a pool competition going thanks to the games room. Very well equipped and the added bonus of two parking spaces outside. Would highly recommend.

Right in the middle of a small unbelievably pretty village and away from traffic but walking distance to the beach. comfortable space for 8 people and a dog where we could find a private spot if we wanted.
