Christmas is but a few weeks away

Where to start, so many things to do, presents, food, wine, tree, decorations where do you begin?

Well Dorset Coastal Cottages can help! When you rent a Dorset Coastal Cottage a decorated Christmas Tree will be waiting for you, so that is one thing off the check list and one step closer to the perfect Christmas and New Year.

Food & wine –  What to eat & drink on Christmas Day and how to create a tasty meal without getting  stressed…. With so many TV programs and books, and the internet, the choices and the advice on how to go about it are endless.  So once the decision is made, the next step is to source the magical ingredients. You won’t be disappointed with choice and quality from Dorset’s local producers.

Turkey has been the main stay of a traditional Christmas dinner for many years. However, why not try a goose or maybe a roasted ham, roast beef or even a multi-bird roast? Our advice is to order in advance and collect when you arrive, that way you can settle down for Christmas early without the worry of having to join the hoards fighting over the last parsnip or turkey in the supermarket.

Where to buy?

There are many ways to organise your Christmas shopping. One is online via the major supermarkets then simply have it delivered to your holiday cottage. Remember, you will need to be there when the delivery arrives, so we would recommend to schedule the delivery for the morning after your arrival.

Staying in Dorset you will be spoilt for choice as traditional and artisan shops are in abundance.

Butchers – R J Balson & Son (The oldest family business in Britain) and Framptons.
Bakers – Leakers Bakery and Punch & Judy Bakery.
