Trails, Egg Hunts and Events this Easter in Dorset
Get out and enjoy one of the great Dorset Easter Egg Trails. Here is a list of some events for you to enjoy:
5th–23rd April 2019
An egg-citing trail for kids! Head out for a superhero adventure through Durlston Country Park and return to the Castle for your prize. £3
Visit Lulworth Castle and go “down the rabbit hole” for some great family fun. Join them every day from Friday 19th to Monday 22nd April between 10.30 and 5pm.
Inspired by the fantastical story of Alice in Wonderland, you can expect a whole host of fun activities including themed trails, Easter hunts, crafts, a bouncy castle (weather permitting, age 7+), soft play for under 4’s, crazy golf and, of course, white rabbits and Easter Eggs!
Don’t forget to go and meet the Mad Hatter in the Castle whilst you’re exploring… Refreshments including light lunches will be available in the pop-up Courtyard Café. Cream teas, hot drinks, cakes and ice creams are available in the Castle Tearoom. Tickets include free parking. Adults £8, Child £6, under 4’s free. Family Ticket (2 adults, 3 children) £30.
Explore acres of fun for little ones at Farmer Palmer’s! From Good Friday to Easter Monday (inclusive) their friendly Easter Bunny will be hiding 100s of mini chocolate eggs out in the field for children to find! These Egg-Citing Egg Hunts take place each day and there’s no additional charge on top of normal admission to join in.
Easter Bonnet Parade, Lyme Regis
2–4pm at Lyme Regis Baptist Church, Silver Street, Lyme Regis, Dorset, DT7 3HR
Lyme Regis’s Annual Easter Bonnet Parade is taking place on Sunday 21st April 2019. Make an Easter Bonnet or just enjoy the spectacle of people in the parade wearing theirs. Judging of the bonnets is in the Baptist Church at 2pm. The Parade is from 3pm starting at the Baptist Church led by the Mayor and finishing at the Jubilee Pavilion on the seafront. Majorettes form part of the parade. Prizes in five age groups as well as those for ladies and gentlemen, and special prizes for the best under five entry. The Treetops Cup will be presented to the best entry overall. Prizes will be awarded immediately after judging in the Baptist Church.
Brewery Square Easter Egg Hunt, Dorchester
The 4-day Brewery Square Easter Egg Hunt is back for another year! Families are invited to Brewery Square to hunt for the Easter Egg images around the square in return for a free prize! The Easter Egg Hunt is being held from Good Friday until Easter Monday (19th–22nd April) from 10am until 4pm.
To enter: Collect a form on the day from the Concierge Office (which can be found opposite the Dorchester South Train Station). Hunt for the Easter images around Brewery Square, complete your form, and return it for a FREE prize! The event is free to enter, and is suitable for children up to 15 years old.

Golden Cap, Charmouth
Explore the nature and wildlife inspired clues on the Golden Cap Estate to claim your Cadbury’s chocolate treat! Hop along to the Stonebarrow Hill to take part in our self-led, family egg hunt. Follow the trail around the beautiful countryside at your own pace and collect a Cadbury chocolatey treat at the end. Lots of fun for all the family plus incredible views along the famous Jurassic Coast. The trail starts at Stonebarrow National Trust shop. All children must be supervised.
Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock
Bunny has gone to the seaside with a fabulous self-led egg hunt at Hive Beach, Burton Bradstock. Lots of fun for all the family plus incredible views along the famous Jurassic Coast. There’s a chocolate prize for all participants and the added bonus of the Hive Beach Cafe where one can enjoy a fantastic snack or meal. Dogs welcome on leads.
Explore the hidden places of the medieval ruins to complete the activities and claim your chocolatey treat.
You will need to use all of your senses to complete your egg hunt and discover fun facts about the bats who call the castle and wider Purbeck area their home.
Studland Bay, Knoll Beach Visitor Centre
Enjoy Easter at the beautiful coastline, dunes and forest of Studland and explore the fantastic nature of this special place. Then enjoy a fantastic range of activities ranging from crafts to outdoor den building. £2.50 per trail.
Easter at Kingston Maurward, Dorchester
Kingston Maurward gets cracking with an Easter lakeside trail, talks and feeding times with animals and an Easter gift for each child!
