Holidays in Christchurch

Christchurch holiday homes

Christchurch is a historic town, situated between award-winning sandy beaches and the lively resort of Bournemouth on one side and the stunning green landscape of the New Forest on the other. From our Christchurch holiday cottages, you'll be able to explore this wonderful stretch of coastline and so much more.

The cobbled streets of Christchurch town centre are dotted with wonderful independent eateries, shops and art galleries. Also in the town centre, you can visit Christchurch Priory, reputedly the longest parish church in England, delve into history at Norman House, the town’s Norman ruins or spend some time at the Red House Museum and Gardens which is a museum full of local history.

The town also has a lovely quay, located primarily on the northern side of the River Stour, just a short stroll from Priory gardens. Here you will find Place Mill which dates back to 1100AD and is now an art gallery, open to the public as well as a variety of walking trails. During the warmer months, boats are available to hire from here and there is a ferry service to the opposite side of the river as well where you will find the National Trust’s Stanpit Marsh. There’s also mini golf, a wishing well and tea gardens too – what a wonderful way to spend a few hours! And if you just want to head to the sea, then the beautiful beaches of Southbourne and Hengistbury Head are both only 2 miles away, Mudeford which is 2.5 miles and Bournemouth which is about 4 miles away from the centre of Christchurch.

Whether you’re looking for seaside, riverside or countryside – Christchurch offers it all. And speaking of having it all, so do our cottages in Christchurch! We have a great collection of self-catering holiday cottages in and around Christchurch to suit any party size or budget. Over half of our holiday homes are dog-friendly and many include additional extras such as hot tub, swimming pool, open fires and more. So why not book your Dorset escape online today?
