Winfrith is a picturesque village with a stream, village shop and a fine Norman church with traditional clock chimes and bells. There is a choice of three pubs, each about a mile away and led to by well-marked village trails. For families, there is a range of local attractions close by including Monkey World, the Tank Museum and Lulworth Castle. If you like walking, whether it be a short stroll, a brisk walk or a long hike, Winfrith Newburgh has a lot to offer with public footpaths and dedicated trails.  

Winfrith Newburgh is located within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and on the edge of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. Wherever you go, you will be surrounded by outstanding scenery, both inland where rolling countryside is peppered with pretty villages and the stunning stretch of Dorset coastline looking out to the Isle of Wight. There are lots of walking routes from leisurely walks under 10 km around Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Ridge up to more challenging walks around Ringstead and Chaldon Herring - whatever your level, there is a walk for everybody in this delightful area.
